New Characters for MK10

I was actually thinking about a character last night. So we all know Liu trained with Bo rai cho. Now i assumed in order for him to be trained by Bo rai cho Liu had to leave the shaolin to live with him like how Shujinko did in MkD. Now what if Bo had like a Granddaughter( who is also a fighter)would visit and by doing so met and became good friends with Liu. She could be almost like Bo fighting wise. A woman who uses drunken fist basically

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Wu Shi Academy (which is Bo Rai Cho's dojo) is associated with the Shaolin, so I doubt Liu Kang had to leave the Shaolin to train with Bo Rai Cho.

And as for whatever children, grandchildren, etc Bo has, I doubt they'll compete in a Mortal Kombat tournament for the same reason Bo does not. And do NOT associate Liu Kang with a female descendant of Bo Rai Cho, because that could be detrimental to his relationship with Kitana.

Also when i was thinking of this i had pictured them having more a brother sister relationship

I think Li Mei is that woman. She may not use Drunken Fist nor is she related to Bo Rai Cho but she is his student and can train with Liu Kang and be not only a friend of Liu but also a love interest, replacing Kitana for awhile.

Nobody is replacing Kitana as Kang's love interest...especially since that's been the case since day one.

Yea I agree with this mostly.

Kit and Liu are pretty much here to stay wither anyone likes it or not. IIts been 20 years for them...

...I think its time to hear some wedding bells...

Actually, Kitana was hooked with Liu before she even debuted. A recently unearthed concept art of her that was dated at around MK1's development (at which time she was known as "Kitsune" and depicted as a daughter of Shang Tsung) even confirms this. I will never accept another girlfriend for Liu Kang.

yea I know that, plus the game actors of Liu and Kitana in MKII dated. Ho sung probably got Katalin the role of Kitana if they dated prior to the game.

Until that Kitsune concept art came out, I was under the impression that the real life Ho Sung/Katalin relationship was the source of Liu/Kitana.

Oh wait...

Since Liu Kang will probably be pissed off at Raiden for what happened in MK9, Tanya, can help him go against Raiden and the Forces of Light.

I doubt it, MK does not even take love relationships that far as to have 'romantic links'. Kitana and Liu have not even kissed or hugged on screen in any of the games(does not mean they haven't...just not infront of us), yet it is apparent that both hold strong feelings for each other and it has gone no further than that.

Now If this was a MK movie, I may agree with romantic links etc...

But In MK games, love takes a WAAY back seat, so im not worried about romantic links or shit like that because it hardly matters anyway.

Liu Kang and Kitana have ALWAYS been romantically involved, and Kitana even asked Liu Kang to rule Edenia with her for all eternity in his MK4 ending (aka "Will you marry me, and rule by my side.").

I clearly already said Kit and Liu have been established in previous posts as a couple...
Im talking about what Freak Nasty was saying(who I responded to in the first place) about Li mei, tanya, or some others becoming also romantically linked with Liu Kang, Possibly creating or suggesting a 'triangle' of sorts... THAT is not going to happen, because MK(the games) does not take love stories etc that far. Hence why you've only seen what you've seen from Liu and Kit: No kisses, no hugs, and a reluctantly declined marriage offer, again...only but so far.

I wish I would see a hug or kiss from liu and kit in the games, but its on the slim side of things...not saying its not possible, but slim chance.
 
The no kisses part makes me wonder if Kitana's Kiss of Death fatality is really canon...

I would've liked to see some sort of merging of Earthrealm and Edenia via marriage with Kitana and Kang; it could work similar to how Sindel's ending explained that Outworld and Edenia remained merged 'in spirit' but were still semi-separated (?); would've been symbolic of an alliance against the forces of darkness and all.

I too thought their realms should 'merge'(in spirit or some shit) if Kit and Liu were to Wed. I'd still like to see that.

What do you mean 'canon'?
Like if she kisses anyone(regardless of how she feels about them) they'll explode ?
If so, I doubt it works like that. Im sure she can normally kiss. I think the kiss of death is a 'concentrated move'.
Like the 'touch of death' or one of those 1 hit, pressure point death move in those old kung fu films. I think its like that.

I treat Liu Kang's Arcade Drop and Kung Lao's Bunny fatality WAY differently from each other.

Kung's Bunny fatality was Paradox (aka Midway LA) making fun of the MKII Friendship, which in itself, the Friendships were Midway's (Chicago) way of making fun of the "GRRRRR rage" angry parents and the "MK is too violent" people.
It's like someone telling you a joke and then saying "Oh, yeah, and here's a joke about that joke."
It loses its funnyness (I know that's not actually a word).


The Arcade Drop on the other hand, was a straight up "WTF :laugh:," to me, at the time.
