Some Supers Are Lame/Weak

Superman hits them in to space from the earth how are they going to do that with them already in space

Flash runs around the earth... Can't do that in space

Lex Luther throw a huge ball of energy and you see it explode on the earth..x but the fights in space

Its the same as Smoke's MK3 fatality. When he destroys the Earth even when he drops the bombs on a stage in Outworld.

Nobody cared then, nobody should care now

Triple post, but I have to say it. I hate the fact that the supers are preformed by pressing two buttons. Theres making a game accessible and then theres packaging your game with safety helmets and water wings. Its stupid, brainless and makes combos much less hype IMO. Seeing Dudley juggle his ducking upper into a ducking Ultra blows my mind! Wouldn't be nearly as impressive if his commands were made for toddlers.

yeah that bothers me as well. it wouldn't hurt to give supers a more challenging input IMO it feels more rewarding that you did some insane combo followed by a super that requires 2 quarter circles and then pressing L1 or whatever shoulder button

I like all of them. Deathstrokes stood out because its so in to his character. Its brutal, makes good use of his weapons and looks outstanding. They could have done a lot worse on half of the supers. The only thing i dont like about Catwomans is the way she pulls them up like they hadn't been tied up by a whip by their neck. With Hawkgirls i wish she had hit them twice with her mace, flew them up in the air, then whacked them twice and to the ground.

It looks like they spent all of 13 seconds thinking of Hawkgirl's.

A lot of them suffer from sudden drops. Quite a few "that's it?"'s imo. Aqua Man, Sinestro and Cyborg come to mind. They start off with "holy shit this is awesome!" But then quickly snap to "oh"

Cyborg opens a portal to his arsenal/weaponry/laboratory where a futuristic tank blasts plasma rounds or something at the opponent.

Cyborg summons/creates an array of mines around the stage and knocks the opponent into one, ricocheting them around the stage like a pinball until they finally are sent flying into a haymaker from Cyborg.

Cyborg does a Piccolo style Hellzone grenade with some suspended missiles or mines.

Cyborg knocks the opponent skyward before hitting them with a straight upward laser beam. Think of Ryu's MVC3 Up Shinku Hadouken. It looks much more intense.

Or at least, at the very least, add some better particle effects to his beam. Its looks like a collage of ps2 graphics littering the screen. This is 2013 baby, our lasers had better represent that

Yeah I like the idea of the second one the rest are gimmicky like GL's super which is the epitome of this thread. LAME. I think most of them are either iconic or over-the-top and they went with iconic for Cyborg.
Idk I'm reserving judgments till I get my hands on the game. It would be great if they had 2 each like ss4 but one would be a normal and one would be only in situations where it would finish the opponent.

The supers are all canned cut-scenes. It really doesn't matter how they look because given there's only one per combatant, and that the moves in question are all activated by a universal, all but automatic L+R bumper input command, you'll be seeing these moves ad nauseum.

By the time you've played through the campaign mode, you'll likely be so sick of the canned cut-scene supers you'll probably trade the game. What led Netherregion to believe a clearly casual, fan service fighter could get away with SFIII-like super move frugality is beyond logic...

I use to hold this opinion, But when it comes down to it. Execution eventually doesn't matter. a high level player to a high level player. You don't say "oh man nice execution on that super." By that point you should be extremely consistent at it anyways.

I use to like it becasue it would seperate me from people who were less technical at the game.

(Starcraft Brood War)

In Starcraft 2 they made the game ALOT more accessible to new players.

At first I hated it thinking it made the game brain dead. But then I realized... those things like putting workers on minerals and (doing a super when you effing do the input) Isn't something that should be a part of the game.

you shouldn't have to battle the system, THEN attempt to battle your opponent.

I was turned off to guilty gear because it was WAY WAY too technical for me. I spent 2 weeks practicing MOVEMENT, and still was terrible at it. So IMO, it makes no difference. All it means is I get to fight more people who are consistent, meaning I don't have to fish fro TOP level pro's to make sure people are executing on me what they wish to execute.

Some of my friend's in smash think I would be 10x better if My execution in Melee was better. They say they see my smart decisions but execution is holding me back. And then you have to ask yourself....

Would my friend who's better than me prefer to fight a execution perfect control version of me? or a version of me where I'm struggling to be consistent but I still drop things meaning his risks are less risky if my punishment isn't on point.

I'd rather fight a Byrd that can do everything perfectly even if it's baby easy, than to fight you. with really hard execution moves and you mess up some of them.

Obviously the 2nd scenario is more impressive to "less experienced players" But once you get high level no one cares anymore about being "impressed" by your technical prowess.

I don't think that's completely true. High level Marvel players still praise MarlinPie's Doom combos

So what game do you like? I've seen you bash MK, Injustice, SFIII and now Mahvel.

You play Playstation All Stars competitively don't you. I've some sick Sackboy combos you can bum off of me
