I think we're jumping to conclusions a bit. Bane, Lex and Doom may be in the game, but it doesn't mean they're playable. I remember back when the MK9 X Ray trailer came out (hype as fuk btw) everyone thought Goro would be playable because we saw him fighting Jax in The Subway.

Not to mention when Kratos was announced, and how RIDICULOUS people's overreacted fits were about it not being "pure" etc.

Nothing like how dumb extremes of any nature, especially fans, can get when not everything goes their way.

True.

However, Bane and Lex I would bet money on, while Doom as I stated before, very well could be an unplayable boss. With Bane and Lex though, I doubt they are a boss/sub.

As you said though, we don't know for sure. For all we know, Joker could be a boss/sub, with that thought process.

Won't know 'til they're confirmed.

I've never seen NRS do a huge guy, that was playable so I think Bane being a boss has some merit on bbblp's part.

Maybe it'll change for this game who knows.

but NRS has a thing for big dudes being bosses.

Well, Grundy is decent sized in his own right(that's what she said), and if you haven't seen the pics of Bane and Lex...Bane isn't that big. Not like Arkham City where he's double the size of Batman. He's closer to the size of Lex's power suit. So I doubt that's a problem. Bane really isn't THAT big in most cases. I mean, he's been portrayed as such in certain circumstances, but not always. Besides, this is a different game. Bane would fit in with the epic over the top super hero battle they are going for.

Lastly, Goro and Kahn have been playable a few times(Trilogy on PS, MK:D on Gamecube, and MK:A come to mind). So it's not impossible. They mainly just don't like their boss/sub bosses of that game playable.

well for the last part I ment for NRS. I don't really feel like NRS is Midway.

But good points all around. Especially about Grundy.

I can just see what bbblp means by it's possible Bane could just be a Boss.

Well, NRS is still the same team it's always been at Midway and post Midway. The same people who made MK1-MKvsDC, also made MK9 and IGAU. So obviously big characters aren't the issue with them. They just sometimes choose not to have boss/sub boss characters playable, and sometimes they are. Speaking of MK vs DC, Kahn and Darkseid were both playable. Surely Bane won't be bigger than them, much more likely he'll be equal in size.

Yeah, he could be a boss, it's possible...but I doubt it. Bane's usually not the top dog. At least...not when the whole DCUniverse is at play. I'd guess Doomsday, Superman, Joker, or Darkseid will be the main bosses/sub boss.
 
I see what Cyborg is saying. Bane may be as big as a boss, but its possible he isn't important enough to hold a boss/sub boss role. Though once again, we never know, he could be Joker or Supes' body guard.


Also with Lex, the reason I can see him being a boss is because he fits both requirements. He's very important to the story (I assume) and he's quite large. I wasn't kidding when I said he had Hulk Buster armor, he's a good 2.5 times bigger than his MK8 rendition.

No, The only person from the originally games Is Boon.

no body else is the same.

you can't compare a crew of like 8 guys. vs the dozens of employees they have now. where the only constant in the series is Ed Boon.

completely different league. same leader.

If you tried to lead a mcdonald's in the ghetto.

vs a mcdonalds on wal-street.


you're bound to have 2 different experiences.

1 person isn't enough to consider those two ages as "the same team"

There's only so much you can say when all it was is a somewhat confirmation from a small magazine quote. No pics or ideas on what role he'll play etc. So who knows. There would be more to discuss if we knew what he looked like or the impact he'll have.

I guess that alone makes for some speculation and whatnot, but another discussion of playable characters broke out instead. lol
 
Aquaman actually can be badass at times, they just gotta do him right. I'm looking forward him.

And I'm 50/50 on Bane being playable. The image we've seen of him makes it seem like he's playable, but theres a high chance he's gonna be pumped with venom, get even bigger and become a boss fight. As much as I'd be dissapointed, I cant deny he'd be a good boss though.

Or maybe he's playable and his steroid ability isnt as big of a deal. Like maybe he only uses a small amount and his stats change rather than his physical appearance.

Lol he played exactly the same but he was like 1/3 of his actual size.
 
Wait, now I remember. Bane is playable.
If I recall correctly, the article spoke of Bane's gimmick button activating the venom to boost his power.

Well, in their own words, it's the same team. They have most of the same members, with Ed Boon still the creative director. Other guys that have been added over the years to accomodate the need for more employees, are still there, at least all of the main ones that we have seen throughout the years. They just renamed the studio...they didn't change it. Nobody was fired or let go, they just gave it a name as it's now under WB. Whereas under Midway, they never had their own studio name.

Boon, Forden, Vogel, Carlos, Hans, Hector...the other programmers who did a lot of demo fights showing off combos who's names escape me right now...Boon's brother. As far as I know...they're all still there. Sure, they've added people, but the fact remains, it's still lead by the SAME person. Which means the games still have the same direction they've always had. If Boon stepped away, I could see what you are trying to say...but he hasn't.

Thanks for the update. but i still say even 3 guys vs the dozens now. Isn't enough.

I mean Boon and those 2 guys obviously don't know much about making a great fighter(For competitive sake) cuz it took mk9 where they have ALOT more minds thinking together, to get them out of that dark 3-D era where only the story was really worth buying the game for.

I think they leveld up though, since MK9. They are hiring outside pro help like 16bit. To help flesh out the game to make it competitive.
