Do you guys know the stories behind the characters you are wanting? Because it seems some of you guys are only going off how cool the character is or how cool they look and not thinking about how they'd fit into the story or how they would play.

honestly, at the end of the day.... its still a fighting game. Story can be nice and all, but what good is a fighter with a nice story and shit gameplay.

Sure it would be cool if it had both great mechanics and a story mode, but the mechanics are more important. Its a video game after all. If the story is someones # 1 priority, then they should just stick to comic books.
 
We don't even know what the story is going to be like just yet, anyway

Can't really try to "fit" characters into a story we know next to nothing about

I'm assuming every character listed in this thread has powers. So I'd like to think the developers could potentially put them to use in some way. Unless you feel like going through this thread and debunking every character listed here you feel wouldnt fit the game at all because of their powers and your knowledge of them. Go ahead.

I don't mind both Captain Marvel and Black Adam to appear with the similar attacks. The only difference I want between them is that Black Adam is more offensive while Captain Marvel should either a balance or defensive power.
 
I think that any two characters that have the exact same powers should just be alt costumes. So Superman/Zod, Green Arrow/Merlyn, Shazam/Black Adam, and Green Lantern/Sinestro should all just be alts of each other. This way players can decide if they want to play as an evil character or a good character and they won't have to use up the roster space of other characters that would be more unique in terms of playability. I understand that some people won't like this idea because it means that those characters would not be involved in the story (unless in the background I guess) and that they probably wouldn't have their own endings, but I don't think it would work well to have several different versions of the same character. They could even change some of the move animation like they did with Cyrax and Sektor in the last MK.
Either that or they'd have to give them radically different types of moves, which doesn't really follow. Or they could have a DLC pack that would just have those extra villains in it.

Yes you can.

Look at who has been announced already. With those 8 characters you can almost tell what they're going for. They seem to be setting up teams, Teen titans, The original JLA without Cyborg, and possibly The LoD with the only exception being Harley Quinn who could be taking Jokers spot.

And seeing as how there is going to be a revolt against the Heroes you can almost say with a certainty that President Luthor will be in this.
 
Just make them DLC or don't bother trying to include them, especially not as alts

I thought the whole point of an alt was to give its respective character a different look

Not change the character itself

Entirely different characters shouldn't be just skins of another character (before you say, "Tekken does this with Eddy and Christie", understand that I'm not really fond of that either, and just because one series does it doesn't mean it's okay for another series to do it, too)

The human alts for Cyrax and Sektor worked perfect for them because they were still the same character, just a different version of them

Two characters may not have enough differences from each other to be radically different, but they're still different characters overall. Treat them as such. It's a slap in the face to the people who might have actually wanted those characters playable

Basically, you'd be saying, "Oh, I don't think your desired character deserves to be playable so we're just going to reskin this character to look like your desired character"

I'm not saying they should disregard balance and completely ef it up. Just that characters are the big selling point in games like this. MK9 has 27 characters so it seems like Injustice will have less which is just wrong. Especially with all the stage interaction causing messy variables in there anyway.

Oh and when talking about balance in Injustice we shouldn't forget all the "Harley can't beat Superman" comments either. So some people actually expect the game to be imbalanced.

About the story. I'm wondering if the divide of character select screen has any significance or is NRS just putting them into bright and dark styles. Need to see a couple of more reveals. If they add Green Lantern for the left and Catwoman for the right side it starts to get interesting.
 
Well if your theory is true AMES32 what other teams are there? Extended JLA with Black Canary, Zatanna, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow and stuff like that? and i hope they arent going for all the Teen Titans because that will take up quite a few spots but i wouldnt mind if they did one more then did the others DLC
 
I meant no disrespect to the characters or to those who like them, I just thought it would be one possible way that they could fit a few more faces in while still leaving roster spots open for more unique characters (meaning those with more unique movesets, I understand that their personalities and backstories are very different.) Speaking personally, I would rather have certain characters as an alt than not have them in the game at all. Yes they could still have them as DLC and that would be my first choice probably, but I worry that the DLC for this game will end up like that for MK - after the first wave they'll just give up and move on for whatever reason.

I know you said not to use Tekken as an example, but Tiger Jackson and Eddie are just alts of each other and it's still fun to play as both. And in that game Tiger gets his own ending too, so maybe NRS could do that. Then is there really anything they're taking away from the character apart from a square on the character select screen?
 
Hopefully they reveal either Villains, Females or other Justice League Members!

Villains = Catwoman, Deathstroke, The Joker
Females = Zatanna, Black Canary
Other Justice League Members = Aquaman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan or John Stewart), Green Arrow
 
I was hoping for Robin (prolly would have been my main) but Nightwing pretty much killed that chance. But I do hope that Nightwing has Robin alt. I would love to wield some batons and staffs in the red, green, yellow and black outfit. And plz no hood.

The original JLA, consisted of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and The Martian Manhunter. So the only add on's you listed are Green Arrow and Black Canary who are themselves a team. Oh and Zatanna was also a add on.

There are so many more.

And it's possible that the Teen Titans are in. All we need is Starfire, Raven and Donna Troy. and the others could be Dlc if need be.

We should have dogs since Marvel Vs Capcom had one. We should either get Ace the Bat-Hound or Superman's dog (I forgot his name).

I'd so main one of them if they really put dogs in AHAHa :laugh:
