Critical Limit's Random in the Lab.

Critical-Limit

I'm gonna like once a day maybe once every 2 days. Post a video of some random knowledge I know that might help you.

I'll also take a look into things for you if you wish.

My first Contribution.

You can block both 100% of the time if you get the timing down.

a Johnny cage player in my area can block me EVERY TIME I throw it out ASAP. So I started having to mix up my timings.

You still have to be aware of his block strings if he decides not to go for the 50/50 also, I like to just Jip into 1,1 or 3,3 Spear or either 1,1 Dash F+4 into spear.

But like you said, it's to help defend against it and not shut it down. Dooo one on Cage :]

Of course but you're blocking during those. You're not letting go of block.

outside of that he's got sweep and his F3 overhead.

F3 overhead is slower than sweep so even then You STILL cover both of his safe options.

You can't stop his 50/50 on reaction, but because the JiP sets a pace of when you know they are gonna throw out the 50/50 you can block both.

His only other tricks are his takedown and his 2, 1+2(overhead) string.

I'm talking specifically about his 50/50 after JiP.

If you want to discuss another aspect of a matchup or character I'll look into it.

Yes! I found something out about Mileena as well in lab a few days ago, It could possibly be a new corner set up. I'll have to record it sometime today.

Can't wait to see what you cover next, hopefully I can learn something new from the master. :)

You need to cover your window with something to get rid of that glare that shines on your TV other than that good stuff

One more thing about Lao you need to mention (on the F3) He can teleport and hit you with a straight 3 or throw you on the other side depending if you are standing block, fuzzy guarding or crouching. If you are crouched he can hit you with a 2 over head and combo. I believe the best way to read a Kung lao player is to fuzzy guard him when he comes in with the roll wait for his follow up string (such as the pop up spin that most online kung Laos do than punish him.) DO NOT JUMP!! he will blow you up if you do.His teleports can be punished by uppercutting (except his EX teleport which has stupid amounts of armor)

Yea this was just about F3, so I didn't need to discuss jumping as I thought not jumping was an obvious thing.

as for the teleport I said risky because if they blocked the roll, and they respected the lowhat/spin possible follow up. Your teleport will get punished. But if they poke, he'll get free pressure/get the chance to hit you.

I didn't go super into detail because once he teleports, it's a normal teleoport game after that. That's in itself a whole different story really, when I'm focusing on just F3.

Thanks for the input though. I'll do a special on teleports at some time and some setups he does as well as how high hurtbox characters can't escape the 3, even if they duck.

sorry if I got off on a teleport rant i feel Lung lao has so many mix up options and just saying "poke him " once Lao does the forward F3 is a bad idea since you have to respect the spin its best to wait and try to read his next move than poke out or punish

.....and another thing he can get you with is a normal throw.

It goes both ways man.

He has to respect your BLOCK if he spins. cuz he takes a full combo from you if you block it.

You're thinking of the worse case scenario for yourself. You gotta think both ways.

point is you can't be 100% scared of his roll in follow up otherwise he will get free pressure EVERYTIME he does F3.

You don't want that.

Spin is just as risky for him as it is for you after F3. So I guess if you face a player who's spinning aimlessly. yes, always block.

But I'm thinking alont the line of offline tournament player mindset. Where they tend to do safer choices, and once in a while do the risky stuff once they condition you or you condition them.

Good videos, I'll see if I can think of anything for you to cover. Maybe like pad inputs? I have a hard time doing KL's normal where he rapidly punches. In order for me to do it on a pad I need to press 1 and 2 with my pointer and middle finger to be able to press it rapidly enough, unless there's a trick to it. I don't have trouble with Kabal's ND cancels but maybe that could be covered also.

The way I do it is I hit

2, then 1 quickly then you can push 1+2 at the same time, then hit 2.

Try that Immortal if you still have problems I can do a video example of that. Thanks for helping out thinking of things to talk about.

What about Execution tips for Characters like Skarlet, and a small simple Frame data guide teaching people how to read it.

Well showing my hands doing something doesn't really help you much. the best I can do for you is give you negative edge tips.

For instance did you know when you're juggling with skarlet. And you use 2, to downslash after which is (DB2) you only have to hit 2 once?

just hit 2, then do DB after the 2 VERY slighly delated. And she'll do the 2 (jab) and the downslash.

The game registers each input you do TWICE. Once for pushing in, and once for letting go.

If you remember a awesome guy that use to be on these forums Forgot his name. Said that you can avoid negative edge things by holding down buttons. Because the 2nd command aka the (let go count) wouldn't appear because you're still holding it.

If he does Ex spin after F3 wouldn't that be safe?

No, it's "safer" but not safe. It has the same Spin cool down as pre-patch spin. So it's not as easy to punish, but it's still punishable by big damage by alot of the cast.

EX spin has like HALF as much lag. I think you can punish with anything 12 frames or less.
