My only problem with this is I bought MORTAL KOMBAT not a Mugen verson for consoles, the other day when I was on MW2 I heard a group of nick jrs talking about goin to get the game just for him because "he can beat every mk character ever" and that's not what I want in mortal kombat, 12 year old kids screamin and ragin in koh, fake mk fans who r buyin the game for kratos or freddy. So I'm offically done with mk until I see a 150% pure mk. Mortal kombat 2 was the FIRST video game I ever played and to see it from the path it was on, then on the path WB is taking this game is sad

mk 9 is too my first mk but i use always ermac, noob or other to train whit them cus i want to play whit as much characters as posible
but my main is for now ermac i gona buy rain and kenshi i think i gona buy freddy too he looks cool but i dont give up on ermac never played whit kratos i think i goa try him later but not all new mk ppl ar nick jrs or somting

yea this sums up my thoughts, I am not giving up on the game or anything but it does irk me.

MK9 was the first MK game that really got it right. MK1 - 3 were great, just the AI was impossible to beat. I grew up on MK2 and was so frustrated I could never beat the game. It actually steered me into gameshark LOL. But as I got older I played MK4, which was decent but the 3D change felt weird, then slowly but surely each following game lacked and lacked more and more. The developers finally got it right with this. I got PS3, so I tried Kratos, was bored with him, and hate the fact I cannot remove him from the ladder play. I hate fighting him, at times I will start over a ladder play if i see him on the list. lol as for Freddy I most likely will not get him. which I am fine with. I prefer the option, not being stuck with him.

My biggest wonder is if this will make NRS reconsider another crossover game. I really don't want the next MK game to be another MK vs *insert name*. If NRS loves horror movie icons, why not just do a separate game? I get the argument of "well its to bring in new people" which part of me rolls my eyes at. Reason being is I start wondering if that will lead to this being an expectation. These new people are gonna look at this series and go "ooh they bring in horror movie icons" and if NRS stops that, those new people go "oh lame, done with this game" It just feels like a kick to the pants to loyal fans all in HOPES of getting new people, and if it does they will be happy, if not oh darn lol. All while the loyal fans are being overlooked it feels. In all honesty, I just wish they would have done a MK character AND a guest character, so those who want their MK character get that, and those who want a guest character get that.

Freddy does NOT belong in MK. MK9 is supposed to be a reboot of MK1-UMK3.

He has absolutely nothing to do with any of those games.

Flame me if you want, I don't care if others agree with me or not.

they really should have strictly made it MK1 - UMK3 IMO

yes, that means no Quan Chi, Kenshi, and definitely no Cyber Sub. And I can honestly live without them.

I agree with you that it should have been strictly Mk1-UMK3. So much for a reboot. . .

While I don't mind Quan Chi being in the game, I hate how he's part of the main roster while Rain was made as DLC. And I hope CSZ goes away in the next game...

I disagree, specifically because this is a reboot. I think some are mistaking this for a remake.

MK9 has elements of the original trilogy, but it isn't supposed to be the exact same story. Its very purpose is to mix things up a little. It's a new timeline, and things have gone (and can continue to go) differently than before.

Guests still don't belong in MK, though.

This game isn't a remake of MK 1 to 3.

This game has it's own story they are telling a new story with this game remember how liu kang got killed by raiden(by accident) this means the champion is dead.

So we don't know what will happen in MK10 it isn't gonna be a reboot of MK4.

Hold on... you've also got the terms confused. What you've described here is a reboot.

You mean MK10 isn't going to be a remake of MK4. The timeline has been rebooted and changed, so MK4 can't be remade.

That means no Human Smoke, no Kenshi, no Quan Chi, no Skarlet (she was only a rumor), no Kratos (which I'm honestly okay with, he caused me lots of rage), and no Cyber Sub-Zero (I'm also okay with that because I think that decision was shitty). It is a reimagining. Also, read my above post about ushering in a new generation.

Wow lol okay you owned him xD

The reason I couldn't give a shit is I'm not an elitist. I'm 27 and have been playing MK since the OG came out when I was 8. I don't know about you guys but I wanna see some more MK DLC and if that means they need Freddy to boost sales to do that then by all means why not. And also I wanna see MK10 and if this game doesn't perform exceptionally we might not see it....ever. So if WB wants NRS to try some new marketing strategies to bring in newer fans I'm absolutely fine with it. Worst case scenario I don't DL the character or I do DL him just to support the game and don't enjoy him and don't play him. They got so much right with this game and fixed all the ******** wrong with the last few games. So Ill give NRS a little slack as far as bringing in guest characters. Most of the people being elitist saying that it should purely be MK1-3 characters were ****ing Zygotes and fetuses when those games were in arcades. I was 12 when UMK3 hit arcades and years later playing MK:DA and MK:D I looked at half those characters and felt the way people feel about kreuger like they don't belong. Hsu Hao, Molock, Drahmin, Meat. These were some of the lamest most half assed half baked characters that should have never existed and hopefully never see the light of day again. I'd rather have this game with 2 guest characters than this game with any 2 of those characters. And if you think differently that's fine but really play this then play armageddon and thank your lucky stars we got what we did. Be thankful this game revitalized a franchise that in all fairness was heading toward bargain bin hell! Compared to where the series was and is now. Freddy sounds pretty ****in good to me. We should all be thankful we got such a great game this time around and not another sub par 3D game over saturated with horrible characters that no one really gave a shit about. And if Freddy brings in new fans then they'll love MK characters for sure after getting to know the game and story. And maybe MK10 won't need guest characters. The sales and performance of the last few games was not where it needed to be so this was a sort of safety net for NRS and WB. Its a miracle after the way the 3D MK games performed that we got this one. They didn't sell terribly but they weren't blockbuster titles at all. There are reasons behind everything they are doing right now and if you love MK and you're really as hardcore as you say then stop *****ing about a character and support the game so we get to play another MK in a few years.

What about such idea:

1. Cyber Subby stays Cyber
2. Noob after Soulnado accident splits into two beings: evil Noob and Bi-Han.

You've got Sub-Zero, Cyber Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot in MK10 this way. Everybody's happy.

I dont see that happening.

Cyber Sub-Zero = Dead ---> revived --> if you revive you do as human, is like a "reborn" = Human Sub-Zero
Noob = Noob

Sub-Zero and Noob for sure, maybe Cyber Sub-Zero as a hidden character or DLC.

That's doubtful. For story purposes he will probably stay as a cyborg, especially since he was still one in the the Netherrealm. I mean, if your soul is shown as a cyborg over human, it wouldn't make sense to come back human.

If anything, human Sub-Zero will be a hidden character.

Cyber Sub-Zero is still... a cyborg. There's no debating that. In the Netherrealm, he was resurrected as a cyborg. Also, they transformed his human body into a cyborg body, they didn't transplant his soul into a cyborg's body. The argument he was "reborn" into a human after his resurrection at the hands of Quan Chi can't be applied to just CSZ, you'd have to apply it with Jax (with the above theory, Jax should have logically regained his human arms), and Kabal (he should have been his former unscarred self on resurrection), as well, not just CSZ. Fans not liking CSZ is not an adequate enough enough reason to turn Kuai Liang back into a human. MK is moving forward, and although I don't like the idea of him replacing Cyber Smoke, NRS is in charge of MK, not us fans. Let NRS move the series forward in the way they want to, not the way we want to.

The Elder Gods can easily give him his human state back, though, so I would expect Sub-Zero to be returned human that way if/when he ever is.
