anyone else done playing online?

i think i found your problem sir, your block button is broken!

i dont use raiden at all, but his superman is far from OP, all it has going for it (as i said in a diff thread not 5 minutes ago) is the startup speed and how far it pushes you.

Actually the fact it can be two in one'd in the AIR is a huge perk of Raiden's Superman. You keep players guessing when you jump whether you will use it when retreating or attacking as you can jump back and pop it in midair to surprise players and evade a projectile heavy player. And his teleport is superior in every way to anyone else's as it's the fastest in the entire game and can be done as a wake-up move.

Sore losers, sore winners. It's all the same really lol. But in all honesty, put yourself in a new players perspective, where they don't understand how to deal with Ermac's, Raiden's, Noob's, etc etc, and you can't blame them for being flustered. Even if they go to the beginners room, there are people there with incredible w/l ratios who snack on them for wins. Sad, but true. I don't mind competative gaming, especially for MK (I personally think it's great), but at the same time, you have to ask yourself: Is competative gaming killing the just for fun attitude we all used to have when we first started playing MK in the arcades? You know? I suppose I feel a love/hate relationship towards competative play in general for this game (and gaming in general).

Spoken like a true Beast

i know its the fastest, its still easily punishable. if your online even, tho if you or the opponent have crappy internet or if you have poor reaction speeds it can be hard.

and if superman had no mind games to it itd be kinda crap wouldnt it? the ability to make your opponent have to guess or "read" you is important in itself.

It's all on you whether you enjoy it or not for whatever reason. I personally LOVE figuring ways out of stuff. I got upball spammed and lost to a kano recently. I went into lab mode with my friend Prince and he helped me find a way around it. The research is half the fun for me.

Someone in my same predicament. (A new player), will just say "THIS IS CHEAP!" and it will drive them away because they don't want to figure out ways around it. And the more you dumb down a game for the newbs so everything is easy to punish, the more stupid it's going to look at a higher level.

IMO you REALLY shouldn't be playing online if you don't got your basics down(Combos/knowledge). Then you go online play, You lose to some tactic. you ask yourself why was that working and how do I stop it? if you don't know then you lab it out and FIND something. Most people would just call something CHEAP so they don't have to adjust themselves to the game. They want the game to adjust to them. That's selfish. Fighting games are ment to be mind vs mind. Not play lazy vs another person who plays lazy and hope you win. If that's the way you like it you should just fight computers.

Let's look at WHY he isn't having fun....it isn't the disconnects or lag, it's just because he is playing the same characters a bunch of times and people spam....who you fight shouldn't really matter much....and the spamming can be blocked and countered....he just needs to learn how to do it.

Just my opinion but this sounds more like he is upset that he can't beat these people.

I would love to play against people at my skill level. I'm good but not expert I do not have the time to be pro. I am lucky if I get to play once a week for like maybe 2 hours. so don't tell me what I need to learn, I know. I guess I'm pissed that you get mixed on with all skills. in those 11 games I played last night I won 2, so that's alright, 2 of the ones I lost were very close, but the others were like shouldn't have even bothered.

It always seems like it's the people who lose that make these threads. Like a way to let off some steam or something. If you lost 9 times to the same characters, you obviously don't know.

You don't know it, though, if you are complaining about it. It is clear from your first post that you can't beat spammers.

I am no expert myself but practice makes perfect and you need to learn how to use blocks/counters/etc. effectively in order to beat spammers. If you already knew how to do this and beat the spammers, your first post wouldn't be all about the spammers who beat you ;P

In short psychobilly, I don't think anyone is putting you down (ok, well maybe a few folks) but as for myself, Jade and others, we're simply telling you this in a nutshell: Keep practicing, and beat them. You will come to find that beating a spammer is very very fun. :) Especially when you get the rage messages afterwords lol.

Spammers aren't the problem with me. It's just silly watching Kung Lao spin 3 times in row hoping for a random pop-up. What IS annoying are the crappy desynchs. Getting a bundle of desynchs at a time before finding a match really grinds my gears.

Welcome to "Competative Play". ;)

Those kids you played were probably pro level players who are damn good at "zoning" you. And don't question anyone. Spamming = Zoning. It's a pro tactic. It's called zoning now, and it's legitimate play so... if you say anything otherwise, prepare to get crucified by 'tournament players' who will get their elite friends to dump on you on here. Just a heads up my friend.
But you are not the only one who feels the same about what has happened to a once great community, that used to exist about a DECADE AND A HALF ago. Wonder where all the other cool cats like FatSatan and BarakaMK went? ;)

This cool cat? He's been summoned! What's up, man? I'm still alive, and I am LOVING the new Mortal Kombat. I keep saying it's a dream come true. I think it's even a serious contender for Game of the Year.

See? I got the crazy Albino Jamaican to register! lol!

Tonight alone, I've fought 12 matches. 7 Scorpion, 4 Sektor, 1 Sub Zero. >.> It does get a bit repetitive, and kind of old hat, but with all the d-syncs and 'game unavailable' screens, I'm just happy to fight anyone, even if I do get my ass kicked. :D

My advice: Take a day off or two and then come back. You'll be surprised how refreshed you are after just taking a break for awhile and hitting up training mode for awhile. (I actually play in training mode more than the actual online)

If you continue to get the same matches over and over again, or if they continue to spam, perhaps I could be of help. If you can, friend me on PSN and I'll help spar with you so you can get used to, and eventually counter, spammers of all sorts.

i find it annoying when some one is just stationary stood blocking waiting for you to **** up so they can hit a 15 hit combo that they have spent hours perfecting

I am guilty of doing this, not for the whole match but there are times when I wait and see what happens. Surely you can't talk someone down for taking a second to think about what they're doing?

This thread is funny.

You've got people complaining about special move spam and you've got people complaining about combo spam. Lol.

HOLY SHNIKES! He's back! Nice seeing YOU again my friend, lol, I'm gonna have to look you up on LIVE some time! Good to know you're still around, after MK vs DC I thought a lot of the older guys got scared off for good. lol!

And as for Noob Saibot and other spammers being frustrating, check out the last match in the video. (I'm Johnny Cage... lol... I'm guessing you all knew this though).

no he is upset at only facing scorpion, kung lao and raiden. and i'm mad at only facing scorpion, kung lao, raiden and smoke. i don't ****ing care about losing. so don't just say "hes only mad because he can't win". that is not what he said.
