As if MK doesn't already have its share of "filler" or unnecessary characters? Half of the ninjas in MK are filler characters. Jade serves no purpose. Sheeva's a joke. Nightwolf is lamer than Kobra. Stryker (though I like him) doesn't present anything that Jax and Sonya don't already offer. Kabal is either a leader in the Black Dragon, or a good guy sidekick to Stryker, depending on what game you play.

And Cyber Sub-Zero? Case closed.

Come on, now. Certain MK fans have selective memories and character assessments. The aforementioned characters are in the new game, and yet nobody is complaining. Reiko is actually a pretty strong fighter. He has a lot of story potential, especially once Kahn falls.

He would need to be more than Mini-Kahn to be worth a place in the game's roster. I'm all for adding in more characters and stages and fatalities and whatnot, but I'd rather they be well-done and fleshed out, not added in just for the sake of adding it in.

They're very similar characters in some ways. Both are very similar to other characters and seen by many as filler (Rain being yet another ninja to many and Tanya being another Mileena to many). They have a large number of people who are mostly indifferent to them while maintaining a cult following of rabid fans. It's just a bit ironic.

I dont agree, Rain is unique besides being a ninja and Tanya not so much is just Jade with yellow outfit. Still that comment was pointless.

However, if we were to go with your assesment; there is only one mileena and there are numerous ninjas so Tanya would be to much how? Anyway, the only thing Tanya and Mileena have in common is that they are both evil. Mileena lives to serve Kahn and replace Kitana, while Tanya just really has the desire to be on top and she sides with who she thinks can get her there.

And on Rain I always thought he was just another ninja with some cool moves. As of late though, they have been making him better. He seems to have more originality now. But, I don't think he is all that and I rather have so many other people in the game besides him, based on story potential, originality, design, and personal favorites.

Now I can't remember who came up with this idea but, its great: Tanya and Rain be the evil duo from Edenia trying to take over......I LOVE IT!

No character is going to 'use' another character's specials or fighting style exactly. Boon has already stated as much, so let's get over that.

I don't see what is so important about Reiko, but the more the merrier I say. He isn't who I prefer, but whatever.

I feel Rain is the most important to get in as of right now.

Chameleon / Khameleon are not important. They are throw-ins...they are not part of any story.

If one of Quan Chi's assassins are used, I would vote Sareena. But she is not very important.

I think Tanya is more connected to the story, and I would like her to be implemented soon. I also think Li Mei would be a good fit. Be careful not to make these two too similar to Kitana / Mileena / Jade.

I do not think we need Nitara (a vampire) with Skarlett (who seems to be based on an affinity for blood.)

Kai isn't a bad option, either.
 
Never cared for Reiko Suave'......Rain might not be a bad addition, at least he was part of the MK3 era. (Unlike Quan Chi or Reiko)

My comparison of Mileena to Tanya is that Mileena is to Kitana what Tanya is to Jade. That's all.

I would love to see Rain and Reiko and even Tanya (I never cared much, but if there's enough people who want her I'll concede) get a big-time makeover. Improved looks, moves, and back story. If they do that then any one of these three could be really fun both as fighters and full-blown characters. I'm all for more characters (and stages and fatalities etc lol) and I think if NRS puts the effort into these guys I'd love it.

And what do have ninjas in common? Nothing except their greatness.

Stop with the story importance thing I think story mode is one thing but in versus, more characters better, i dont give a damn if they have storyy or not, i just want rain because he is so cool.
