Who plans on being competitive in MK9?

I'll be playing for fun, because when you take video games too seriously it takes the fun out.
^^
This.

It's the reason I stopped playing MKvsDC online.
People were taking it too seriously (to get their WIN numbers up) spamming with Flash, Scorpion and Superman.

I will play MK 9 for fun.
Every once in a while I'll pop in online, but the majority of my time with MK 9 will be offline.

EDIT:

I'm just saying that you shouldn't disrespect people and just pass them off as being unskilled because they don't feel like competing competitively.
Agreed.
I dislike playing online, because MOST of the times, the people online are a bunch of hot-headed ***holes.
I'll play MK 9 online with my friends and people that I've added to my PSN.
Everyone else can kiss my ass.

MKvsDC was a horrible game in terms of being a competitive fighter. It was so bad that there was a seperate ONLINE only combos that worked only online and the same with offline combos. The spamming you speak of is the unbalanced and broken part of the game, its the reason why it wasnt taking seriously.

In fact, After UMK3, Mortal Kombat couldnt be taken seriously as a competitive fighter. Thank god Boon invited 10 tournament players to help tweak the game.

Shoryuken.com disagrees with your whole posts. Not going to waste my time debating about this, if you dont think its worth being competitive over then thats your view, go have fun being a punching bag for everyone online.

Honestly who the hell cares what shoryuken.com has to say? Yes I will play this game competitively online but you can't force a person to do what the hell you or a website says damn you already paying damn near a hundred bucks for the game shouldn't have to worry about what some ******* tells you what to do.

Pretty funny that you'd type that, seeing how serious you were acting before with all this.

I was never serious please read my posts again. I was just stating information, I apologize if me correcting you was being serious.

So you weren't being serious despite you insulting people for not thinking the same way as you when it comes to fighting competitively, and assuming that they suck at the game/are scared to be competitive because their main focus isn't on fighting competitively. Right. I'll remind myself to make a note of that next time.

uhh no I'm not, I'm quite good actually. there is no point in being competitive in a game though imo, no matter which game it is. your little speech about maning up is quite ridiculous, it's just a game, I'm not hurt by loss. you just made yourself sound like someone who needs approval and confidence via winning a freaking game dude, get a grip or better yet, get some mental help :P

There's no point in being competitive in basketball, soccer, football, and every other game?
Try to use "in my opinion" next time ninja. Not everyone is like you.

There is no difference in being competitively in physical games, mental games, or video games. Some people are generally just more competitive than others because of their upbringing. And since we like these games we like taking them to the next level.

Its silly for competitive and casual players to get in an argument with each other. That's like having a guy who casually plays basketball with his friends on weekends going up to a guy with a scholarship for basketball and telling him he needs mental help for wanting to improve above and beyond in his game of choice.

Well said.

I'm 50/50 also, i got college and other stuff to do so i can't be practicing every day, BUT i do plan to keep track of combo's and tips and tricks from pro's just like when all the MvC3 online guides came out :D

This exactly. A perfect example of my viewpoint on this is with Halo Reach. I mostly play for custom games with friends now, only time I go into MM is if I wanna get some extra credits to put toward a piece of armor I want
