Ed Boon now being the fan-conscious guy that he is (finally after 19 years), probably heard a few douchebags talking about Cyber Sub-Zero on twitter.
He probably thought "Hmmm, maybe this is what the fans want," not realizing that most people wouldn't want the MOST iconic character in MK (MK 1 Sub-Zero, aka Noob Saibot) to be turned into a tin can.

Way to overreact. Noob Saibot is still the older Sub-Zero. Remember "We share blood, we are not brothers"? And even if the older Sub-Zero does get turned into Cyber Sub...what does it matter? Noob is still in the game.

Noob Saibot being the older Sub-Zero is the 2nd MAIN reason for him being my favorite character.
Changing that by saying that "Noob Saibot isn't Elder Sub-Zero, but is now ___________" basically shits on the MK 1 thru UMK 3 lore of the character.

If older SubZero is turned into a cyborg how would Scorpion factor into it. Unless they can turn people into cyborgs after death which is a absolutely a possibility.

Ok after calming down I have came back and looked at them again and I don't think any of them are the End Game reward and here is why. Look at the points for each of them. None of them are more than 20 points.

Sure some of those are going to be a real pain in the ass to get but they are hyping End Game to be the end all be all of MK challenges so why wouldn't it be worth more than going all the way through story mode? I know every one of us are going to play through the story mode.

Also on a side note. One of them seems really obvious now but the excitement got the best of me.

This is a really dumb idea! I do not like this one bit! Sub-Zero turning into a cyborg is like Zombie Liu Kang! This is one STUPID idea. How kould you guys like it? Even if it is YSZ or OSZ, they are still taking away the iconic feel away from Sub-Zero. If it is Noob Saibot, it is WAY WROSER. I just wish this bad idea didn't happen. This is like the Zombie Liu Kang! Ugh, DUMBEST IDEA!!
 
wow people are just going crazy, this is funny not gonna lie. Im not sure if people thought of this but it could be like What If characters. Just like that video game dragonballZ raging blast like ssj 3 vegeta obviously that stuff never happened in the show but some people like the possibility of it happening. Same situation here with the characters mentioned. You could also do it with smoke have a alt costume one robot one human. i just hope there moves are some how different because it will look funny otherwise. They dont have to be brought into the story, or you could have side stories for them if you wanted. Either way will be interesting to see what happens. Gotta say tho this game needs to come out already, tired of waiting for it.
 
I don't know why people are *****ing about it so much. So what if something doesn't fully make sense? You should learn how to be a true gamer and accept things into games regardless. People complaining about that is just as retarded as complaining about Kratos.

Cyber Sub-Zero may just be a one off character just a "fun' add on for the people that may like it or they could be using the Noob is the soul and Cyber Subby is the body of the elder Sub-Zero idea either way I'm cool with it although I feel like there is no need for two Sub-Zeros. It kind of like Frost who I never cared for but if they can think of good original moves for him I will keep an open mind about it. But and this is a big but if the next game comes out and there in no ninja Sub-Zero or there is no Noob Saibot I will fire up the torches and grab my pitchfork and march on Chicago with you guys but I have faith that NRS is smarter than that.

Agreed, if people dont like something, then they are entitled to not like it. Simple as that, stop trying to convince people to stop complaining about something they dont like, that may actually impact this game in some ways. Like I said in my earlier post, as long as IT is not part of the storyline and its just for giggles, then it wont be so bad.

There seems to be a lot of people overreacting over this. Personally, I am open to the idea, and when I first found out about this a week ago or so(don't ask how), I was shocked and extremely interested, yet I knew people would flip shit and hate it immediately. I think there's a lot of conclusion jumping going on, assumptions being made, and people freaking out over something with such little information, as per usual with fans on forums it seems.

First of all...I highly doubt they are going to replace either younger Sub-Zero or Noob Saibot with Cyber-Sub. Sub-Zero is 1 of the 2 most iconic characters in the series, and it's just not likely that they'd take a risk on that by making him a cyborg from here on out. Noob isn't quite the same icon, but it's quite obvious that his character has morphed into something great, with an intriguing back story, and I don't think they are getting rid of him for a cyborg version of a character we already have in the game. These are people's most feared results, yet they are the least logical outcomes, and I seriously doubt it'll be this way.

Second of all, Cyber-Sub imo is likely just a "what-if" character for fun. He doesn't even have to be in the story or have a real reason, he could just be playable for fun. How many of us did these little "what-if" scenarios in our own heads as a child or just for fun, because it was a neat concept. Another explination could be that Cyber-Sub is a creation for a completely different purpose. It could be Bi-Han's dead carcas turned into a cyborg for some sort of plot device. He doesn't even have to make it past this game, and could just be a short lived character to add to the story part of the whole Lin Kuei story. The last idea, is that the cyborg has nothing to do with the original Sub-Zero bodies, and is just created with some random person inside, but poses as a cybernetic equal to what Sub-Zero is. Meaning he is blue, and uses ice powers, and uses the name, but isn't actually either Sub-Zero character.

The fact is, all of these are just guesses. All we know is that there is a secret character named "Cyborg Sub-Zero". That's hardly anything to go by, so to act as if it is the end of the world, before we even give it a chance, is a huge overreaction. The fact that they have made this game with so much greatness and quality behind it, redesigning our favorite characters and arenas etc. in such a magnificent way. Offering us awesome modes and a huge robust story. With such quality, why are people shitting all over this inclusion as if it's impossible to turn out at least "ok"? Just give it time, no reason to get all bent out of shape before you even know what is actually in the game. I think it's a bit unfair to instantly shit all over this when NRS seems to be doing everything right in this game so far.
