25 starting characters, at least two unlockables. Hummm, sounds interesting. The only problem is that the select screen is still holding 26 characters, but I guess that could be changed (two DLC icons and a "random icon"?)

I dug up the follow info about the Brotherhood of Shadow so we can guess the identity of the hidden kombatant.

About the Brotherhood of Shadow

The Brotherhood of Shadows are an unholy, fanatic cult centred around the demon sorcerer Quan Chi and forever worship the fallen Elder God Shinnok. Its countless members are ever scheming and planning for his release from the Netherealm. Its trademarks are stealth, secrecy, deception, and its involvement are with black magic and necromancy. They achieved their goal when Quan Chi was able to get hold of the sacred amulet needed to free Shinnok from his eternal prison, from where he already controlled the entire Netherealm. Agents such as Noob Saibot and Reiko rose to prominence during the subsequent war with Princess Kitana and the people of Edenia, Raiden and his Earthrealm warriors during the events of Mortal Kombat 4.

Their joint effort ultimately failed and Shinnok was defeated. In the events leading up to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Deception, Noob Saibot began eluding Quan Chi's control and prepared for the creation of his own armies, while Sareena and Ashrah left the Brotherhood. With Shinnok eliminated as a presence to be reckon with and Quan Chi's own plans with the Deadly Alliance, the Brotherhood seems to have lost its importance or is on hold. It appears that for most (former) members, their time spent with the Brotherhood was merely a catalyst for more important things to come. It was later revealed in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon that Sareena is again working with the Brotherhood of Shadow under Quan Chi's spell. This story is also revealed through her newly released bio. Noob Saibot also led the Brotherhood of Shadow to the Lin Kuei palace to overthrow his brother Sub-Zero as well as convert his ninjas into cyborg demons.

At the heart of the Brotherhood of Shadows' fanatical religion is these diabolical zealots' very desire to bring about the day when the malevolent Elder God Shinnok is finally and completely set free from the dark depths of the Netherrealm, and his will is done. And they'll soon stop at nothing to achieve their insidious, utopian dream of being at the right hand of their divine master and creator, and thus forever rule all creation itself.

If Quan Chi is unlockable, then there's one free spot, unless they added someone else. About the End Game reward, it could be either Cyber Sub Zero or the third Mileena's alternate which is rumored to be a nude version of her, in that case Ed Boon's words about being recognized online as a bad ass who completed the Challenge Tower will totally make sense!!! **** it, NRS secrecy is shit!

Why would they have two different achievements for the same unlockable, if that is the End Game reward? I don't think it is based on that alone. Four hidden fighters, two with achievements... wouldn't one of those two unnamed hidden fighters possibly be the End Game prize?

I've explained it in my previous post, it MUST be THAT reward, it makes totally sense, even if I'm totally disappointed.
And about THAT character, finally Ed Boon's words about an unexpected story change have finally found a confirmation: if only I think of all the people I made fun of when they came out with that insane idea...

Discover and fight Hidden Kombatant 3 in Arcade Ladder - Remeber in the pit's bio? Reptile was sent down there to finish the surviors so it kould maybe be Reptile.

There is absolutely a zero percent chance that the hidden characters have already been shown. They're not very hidden if we know all about them, are they?

No, I think just one of them is the End Game prize, and is

Notice that it says hidden and not secret. If they are hidden, they are hidden kharacters you have to unlock and find. Now sercret kharacters are another story. Patrick said the story will explain everything.
 
I dont think the 4 hidden fighters are known to us, they arent Noob and Reptile.
Reptile has been a selectable character from MK2!!

No im sure these fighters are new to us, fighters they wont show us unless we come across them in Arcade Ladder.
Thats the whole point for hidden fighters, NRS are not going to show Reptile and Noob like they did and suddenly make them into characters you cant choose from the start.
