I don't believe in any of this nonsense, but I'm a Taurus for anyone who cares.

I'd really love to know how you think anyone was able to prove that any thing about this stuff is false. The changes that were made were to make the dates actually correspond with the actual astronomical movements this stuff is based on, since that gradually changes over time due to precession, and is no longer the same as it was thousands of years ago when it all started. What you're thinking of is probably how some factions responded to this with "who cares? we don't need to change the dates because of astronomy." And I actually agree with them. The fact that astrology and astronomy have a common ancestor is totally irrelevant today. Since we know astrology is bunk, why bother insisting on maintaining the link with astronomy?

Not officially, but keep in mind that it's solely a matter of terminology. Nothing actually changed about Pluto or even about what we know about Pluto. The problem is that the definition of term "planet" was nebulous to begin with. The IAU finally tried to give planet a specific definition, and in doing so, they had to squeeze Pluto out, because when they tried to use a definition that included Pluto, that would have resulted in there being 57 planets, and that's just silly.
