Well what do you expect when you make a thread for the sole purpose to pretty much bash people who use Scorpion? You set a negative tone for the thread based off the first post. Surprisingly, this thread has been civil for the most part, but I'm pretty much waiting for a reason to close it based off of recent history of threads of this nature. Hopefully you guys can prove me wrong.

Adept, seeing the same teleport 2 times makes you wonder when 2 block & punish and btw Iv played about 25 online rounds (ps4) and only encountered Scorpion like 3 times 1 time it was the same person, iv seen a lot of different people play a lot of different characters like Cassie, Ferr/Torr <--- really fun to fight against also fought a good Kung Jin player and a very shitty Reptile player, so no worries people.
 
this is why i think no demo this time was a good idea.
a demo would of had only around 4 characters to try
you can guarantee subs and scorp be in that 4
so jump online and players would likley be using one of those 4 since theyve had time to learn them

but no demo means even start with every character,
jump online and i think theres more chance your guna see the new characters in use.

so i think theres a chance the scorpion online use might not be as much as you expect

not that hes ever been much of a problem to beat, hes never been an OP character so as long as that remains the case its ok.
 
You sure it'll be Scorpion that we will see a lot? I thought it's gonna be Jacqui with how fast she is.

But I rarely came across a Scorpion player when it was 2011. So I can't really say that I'm gonna be preparing myself for the countless of dull fights.
 
I'm down. Easy wins considering most scrub scorpion players play the same and never learn from there mistakes. I feel scorpion is a hard character to use. 2-3 weeks in everybody will know how to deal with him. This makes it more challenging for the real scorpion players.

I loved when my opponent picked scorpion or smoke in mk9. I felt kinda bad they had no idea what was coming
 
I was seeing mostly Kung Lao's and Raidens in MK9, honestly.

I'm sure that unless they are TS+ or TS, Kotel and Erron won't be super popular. I have no fear in being unique.
 
I mostly saw people use Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Smoke and Noob. Quite often also Ermac and Cyrax. Occasionally Johnny, Stryker and Kabal.

For MKX I'm predicting a lot of Erron, Goro, Cassie, Kung Lao, Ermac, Shinnok.

Anyway, for online, I kind of resigned and just hit random for the lulz.

In MK9, 70% of the players i played with have choosen Scorpion (teleports, spear and the same punisheable combos all the time - kicked them ass with Jade) and 10% was Sub Zero (hiding behind ice clones and sliding)... The other 20% was a mix of Kung Lao, Smoke, Kitana, Liu Kang, Cyrax and sometimes Mileena.

Almost never played against Sheeva, Sindel, Jade (but i pick her very often and i'm really good with her), Raiden, Shang Tsung and Cyber Sub-Zero.
 
At periods in MK9 on Ps3, I'd come across random players using the same characters...like a damn trend had come out and everyone I came across were using those guys.

Perhaps all throughout March and april, I came across a shit load of cyrax, mileena, and Lao players...

Next trend was Noob, Sub Zero, and Stryker players for a month or so...

I never understood why I kept getting matched with players who all play those same characters.

I remember the Scorpion rush on MK9. The thing was, after a few weeks, and having gotten pretty decent at the game, fighting against Scorpion was pretty much a guaranteed win. Predictable, and most of the really good players seemed to stay away from him. I hated fighting against Kung Lao and Raiden, of course. But I LOVED going up against Scorpion...once I really knew how to play, he became the easiest win in the game.

Also, cot dayum!!!...I am excited as hell for Tuesday!!!!! I can't wait to get back online with MK. That first few months online with MK9 was as much fun as I've ever had as a gamer. I'm actually nostalgic for all the childishness, ignorance, hate, and general nonsense that came with that community. Tuesday at midnight...we begin again. Yeeeeeessssssssssss!!!!!!!!

everytime i played MK9 people always chose baraka

prolly coz hes the most badass looking character with the most deadly of moves and best fatality in the game

In the begining i remember fighting a lot of Scorpions but as the months went by I started to see less and less of them it was always a Kung lao, Cyrax, and kabal. sometimes a mileena, liu kang, kitana and subzero

lol can we please not turn this into a 'who likes Liu Kang better' debate :P and instead be united in the fact that we all like LK! Dragons Fire variation ftw!!
