X-Force' could be heading to the big screen after 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.'

Depends on which team they'll use for X-Force determines my excitement.

If they use the last team (Wolverine, Deadpool, Psylocke, AoA Nightcrawler, Fantomex and Angel) I'll be stoked as all fvcking hell.

If they use any of the other teams I won't be as stoked. If they used the team before the last one (the one with War Path in it) then I wont be stoked at all. That X-Force series sucked ass.

Cable and Domino are my must-haves. Beyond that, it'd be nice to have Deadpool, Shatterstar and Psylocke.

I don't see Wolverine being cast; he'll overshadow the entire team.

Very curious to see who would get cast as Cable. Would love it if Hope Summers was somehow involved in the plot. To me, Cable & the X-Force is the most overlooked book on the stands today; very few things interest me more than the relationship between Cable and Hope.

Cable & the X-Force is the most overlooked book on the stands today;

This. A million times this. Cable & The X-Force is a fvcking fantastic series. I didn't have too much hope (pun) for it and had all my faith in Thunderbolts and it ended up the exact opposite way. Thunderbolts sucked fat c0ck and C&XF is fantastic.

‘Deadpool’s’ Ryan Reynolds Doesn’t Know Anything About ‘X-Force’

The Wolverine is out next week, and X-Men: Days of Future Past is just a summer away. But all of the sudden, the most exciting possibility in the X-Men cinematic universe is something else entirely: Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow’s adaptation of X-Force.

An official announcement about Fox’s take on Cable and friends is anticipated this week during Comic-Con International. But don’t expect to hear anything about Ryan Reynolds joining the cast as Deadpool — because the actor doesn’t even know what X-Force is.

While promoting R.I.P.D., the actor was asked by MTV News about a possible Deadpool appearance in X-Force. His answer isn’t encouraging.

“Huh,” he reacted when hearing the word X-Force. “If I knew what X-Force was, I would. It sounds a little bit like a 1985 Chuck Norris vehicle — Delta Force, that is Delta Force. I don’t know what X-Force is, but it sounds great.”

It’s a surprising comment coming from someone who has starred in more comic book movies than almost anybody, with credits including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern and Blade Trinity. But it falls in line with what Reynolds said during the R.I.P.D. press conference in New York, attended by Comic Book Resources: “Comic books, I don’t read a lot of them. It’s just such a huge part of the industry these days that it’s a legit genre unto itself. Just as most actors are going to end up in a drama at some point, most actors are going to end up in a comic book movie it seems like these days. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of a few of them.”

The announcement came last week that Kick-Ass 2 writer/director Jeff Wadlow would be bringing Marvel's X-Force to life on the big screen. But how far is he into the film's script?

“I’m pretty deep into it,” Wadlow told Cinema Blend. “I have the whole story completely worked out. I’m about 20 pages into my draft. If I wasn’t promoting Kick-Ass, I would probably have a draft [already], but Kick-Ass is going to slow me down just a little.”

When asked about the importance of the team's leader, Cable, Wadlow responded: "Here’s the thing, I love the current run of Uncanny X-Force. I love the classic run. Part of my take was addressing this idea that X-Force can be many different things, and that’s what got the studio excited. I think the fans will be excited, too.”

Described as the "militant" and "more aggresive" counter part to the X-Men, X-Force was first launched in the early '90s by Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza. The original team consisted of many fan favorite characters including Cable, Cannonball, Domino, Warpath, and Deadpool, but later incarnations have featured Wolverine, Psylocke, Sunspot, and Colossus.

As to how X-Force will tie into 20th Century Fox's upcoming The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past remains to be seen, expect some major announcements today at Comic-Con International San Diego. Check back here for live updates from 20th Century Fox's Hall H panel later today!

Director Jeff Wadlow Teases His ‘X-Force’ Movie and His Action Thriller ‘Go Fast’

Jeff Wadlow: I’ve been really fortunate in the last couple of weeks. I was away in London for a year making the movie. So to come back to Hollywood and back to Los Angeles and have the community really excited about the film and excited about other movies I’m excited about was really rewarding, but the truth is I owe a lot of it to Mark. X FORCE is something I’m incredibly passionate about and without his support it wouldn’t be happening.

Peter Sciretta: I just ran into Rob [Liefeld] on the street on the way over here. That’s a book that I’ve read for years and it’s never been super heavy on story, but the cool imagery has always been there and It feel its very cinematic.

Jeff Wadlow: Oh yeah. I love the current incarnation, UNCANNY X FORCE. I love what Rob did in the nineties. I remember buying X FORCE 1 and what I’ve really loved about the announcement that we are working on the movie is how excited people are by the potential, but also how curious they are like “What’s the line up?” What’s interesting with X MEN, I mean they have an iconic lineup, so you know who is going to be in that movie, but X FORCE it’s like “Who is it going to be?” I love that people are guessing.

Mark Millar: People are going to be dissecting every name as it gets released, so it’s will be so cool when you have your five.

Peter Sciretta: So who’s in the line up?
