Why is the camera pulled so far back on regular SDTV?

SD Tvs are the norm at about 99% of the fighting game tourneys, btw.

I bet most of the TV's you all use for fighting games have built in lag/delay from what you see and what you press on your stick/pad, and dont even know it.
 
Well... All I know is that it looks better pulled back. I hate how ridiculously close the camera can get. I mean, can I not be all up in Mileena's ass-crack, please?
 
Hopefully in the full game you can change that, it looks ****ing retarded. But you really should just get an HDTV, it's worth it.

Meh I am not gonna be hitting any tournaments soon anyways because im more of a single player guy. Might as well have an awesome presentation while i am at it. And yeah I know that still, Game mode makes a difference but its not perfect.
