Why didn't Raiden intervene at the Coliseum?

When Smoke was ambushed by Lin Kuei cyborgs, Raiden effortlessly took them all down. When it happened to Sub-Zero, he just stood and watched. I could understand if he, Johnny and Smoke had arrived the very moment SZ was being taken away, but he was there long enough to watch Sektor and Cyrax offer the services of the Lin Kuei to Shao Kahn. Did this seem strange to anyone else?

Certain flaws in the storyline like

"Why did Stryker just stand there while Kabal was being burned alive"
"Raiden can't intervene for Sub-Zero, but can for smoke?"
"How the hell did Sindel kill all the earth's heroes on her own?"
"If Sindel is so strong, why not send her to kill everyone in the first place?"

Basically, just go along with it, even if it doesn't make much sense.

It's not exactly a bulletproof story, but it's still good nevertheless. NRS could have been as creative as they wanted to be because this is an alternate timeline. It's actually not so bad because CSZ recovers his memory and fights for Earthrealm and Raiden anyway.

Initially I thought the same...until I thought about the they were in front of Shao Khan with many warriors present, whom might not have taken kindly to Raiden assaulting their allies. In other words it would have turned into a huge smackdown with odds against earthrealm.

You want flaws in the storyline... well they are endless.

Why didn't mileena/baraka/reptile/kahn anybody at the colliseum stop Liu Kang when he tried to break open the chains of Kitana? They were standing freaking next to it...

Why did Raiden not stop Smoke from attacking Jade? That fight was nonsense.

Why did Ermac not just crush Stryker like he can, he lost even to him (biggest flaw in game)

Why did Liu Kang was the only earthrealm combatant left as Sonya wasn't beaten by ANYONE in the tournament.

Why was Baraka still a labdog after Shang Tsung ordered Johnny Cage to finish Baraka off?

Why Kabal forgave Stryker so fast for leaving him lying there and attacked Kano who saved his freaking life?

WHY WHY WHY I could continue forever, but no.

Yeah plus Sektor and Cyrax offered the allegiance of the Lin Kuei to Shao Kahn, If Raiden attacked them Shao Kahn would be pretty pissed off.

Kabal attacked Kano who saved his freaking life?

WHY WHY WHY I could continue forever, but no.

Remember It was Kano who sold those fire breath thingys and weapons to them so basically if Kano didn't sell those weapons nothing would've happened to Earthrealm and Kabal.

Ignore the little things and you will enjoy the ride. The Sonya and Kano rivalry was pretty much destroyed because of this game though

Kabal Forgave Stryker because Stryker tried to help but couldn't of done anything more and Kano was the one who sold them the merchandise and got him burnt in the first place.

Sonya was beaten by Johnny Cage unoffically I think

Ermac not crushing Stryker because he was in Earth Realm? or some bullsh!t like that would probably be valid.

Smoke fighting Jade was stupid but they needed a extra fight I guess.

I don't get why no one stopped Liu Kang unless they were it was just off screen which is also stupid

Raiden could not stop them from taking Sub-Zero as he would have to fight all of them off and even Fight in the arena when he has less power in Outworld as time passes and he's not allowed to enter the tournament.

Those are the most bullsh!t excuses I can come up with for now

Guys, this is not a story flaw. Think about it for a second.
Raiden could save Smoke because that was in the ass end of nowhere with nobody watching.
Raiden couldn't save Sub-Zero because Shao Kahn was right there and would NOT have allowed him to intervene.

QED

The Sindel thing isn't a flaw either, she WAS sent to kill Earthrealm's warriors as soon as she was resurrected. How is that a flaw...? If you mean why wasn't she sent originally, it's because she wasn't evil and wouldn't have gone.

Kabal attacked Kano because they CLEARLY have a past together, and Kabal CLEARLY hates Kano based on that past.

You guys need to pay some goddamn attention and think about stuff for a second instead of just complaining that it doesn't make sense.

Uhm Kintaro burned Kabal with his natural ability to breath fire, Kano isn't a mage he didn't give Kintaro his breath.

Also NOBODY of outworld was seen using the weapons of Kano, they all used their tarkatan blades and abilities, so why would a lesser character like Kano be responsible for the entire invasion?

And Sonya being beaten out of the tournament by Johnny Cage? First of all Shang Tsung wasn't there and secondly if that was the case it would be a very retarted case as it wasn't for the tournament.

...
Did you miss the Tarkatans with the guns?

Stryker didn't leave Kabal to die, he was kinda busy fighting people.

Again, pay attention.

Sonya was likely beaten by somebody offscreen, they don't have time to show every fight and we didn't play as any Outworld characters in the MK1 segment.

The tarkatans with guns were still in outworld, Kabal also couldn't know that Kano gave those weapons to them at that point.

Kabal couldn't know that Stryker was bizzy fighting Ermac as he had passed out.

Well Sonya getting beaten of-screen would have been a mayor storyline unlike Smoke vs Jade.

Also you can't say "Why didn't they send her in to kill everyone in the first place?" When they did send her in and she did kill everyone.

Actually It was Kano that gave the fire breath things.

You can hear Kano say it to Kabal at 5:35 on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N1pqpZE4Fw

Obviously Stryker would have explained what happened to Kabal after he got back to Earthrealm, they just can't show everything "on screen".

And no, Sonya getting beaten off-screen really isn't a big storyline point in the MK1 tournament. Sonya's presence there is largely irrelevant in the first place, as that whole arc is all about Liu Kang.

Why did Cyrax's victory over Johnny Cage count if Cyrax was already beaten by Scorpion?

That was an unscheduled fight, and thus did not count for tourney purposes.

Again, guys, if you just think for a second the answers are glaringly obvious.
