Who else is really disappointed about paying for the DLC kostumes? (FIXED)

Would you rather pay $$$ for the costumes or get them for free?

Frankly, I think everyone would want them free (why would you WANT to spend money)
But I di think it is dumb after their whole "We wont make you pay for things on disk." Now they make us pay for these costumes....

the thing about making us pay for stuff already on the disc is they are clearly ripping us off. they could have given them away for free but no everything is about money. most dlc is made after the game comes out but clearly they intended to make us pay for the costumes

It's a business.

Of course they want money, regardless of whether they lied or not. Is it shady? Sure is, but, again, that's business. Anything to make a buck.

If i had a choice of course i wouldn't but now i will pay and support NRS. They put to many stuff in this game and the price was very cheap from day one (40-45€ from expensive shops) so i don't complain about 3€, also i prefer to release and pay for dlc rather to pay a mk disk again with the dlc inside and call it UMK like SSFIV.

It's not too big of a deal. I expected them to be free like everyone else but five bucks for the seven costumes and three fatalaties isn't that bad. I already had most of the costumes, and probably would have paid $4.99 just for the Reptile skin. So I'm gonna buy them, besides the better the DLC does the more we'll have available to us in the future

This thread makes no sense, if you would have the option to choose get them for free or to pay for them, its obvious you will choose get them for free.

NRS: "Hey you the costumes are free!"
Some Guy: "No, thx i dont want free stuff, I will pay for them"
NRS: "Thanks, but... what is wrong with you? haha"

Sounds stupid, doesnt it?...

Anyway, they should be free, its a shame that they charge us for in-disc content, but what is worse is that they lied as since the beggining when the told they were not going to charge us for in-disc content, if they wouldnt say anything, im sure we wouldn't be complaining right now.

Im just curious I have heard this alot but does anyone have 100% rock solid proof that these costumes are really on the disc? or is this just another internet rumor gone wild?

sad thing is that some of the mk community is to blame people buying one costume off of ebay or whatever for £5 NRS noticed this and saw that people were willing to pay stupid amounts for just the one costume so they figured £5 for all them would be reasonable. My opinion now is that its bull to have to pay for on the disc content but it's not the first time I've paid for the stuff

They are for sure.

People would still complain, same thing happened to Namco and SCIV with Darth Vader(360)/Yoda(ps3) dlc and they didn't release any dlc for Tekken 6.

Most of us here like free stuff, but let's be real...NRS, like most video game developer is a business, they are out to make money. Developers can plan ahead on extra content to make extra cash after the initial sales, whether it's in the disk or omitted for later use doesn't make much of a difference.

The retro costumes should be free. While characters and other unseen content should be about $5.00 or less per item.

um perhaps... they are on the disc... for the hidden fights... but the programming to make them use-able is not? I dunno.

I guess what i'm saying is...

you could totally play the trick i'm not lying card and say

yeah.. the secret fights are on the disc... and are free...
But you are paying for the programming to set it up so you can have access to all the klassic costumes(which are on the disc but the programming is not) to make them all use-able

I don't really have a problem with 400 MS points for all the costumes + fatalities. They shouldn't have said they wouldn't charge for on disc content, but I was really afraid they were going to follow the Capcom nickel and dime model for DLC.

Besides, they're costumes. It's not like the game will break if you don't download them. Personally I don't even care about them, I'm going to pay the $5 to get the classic fatalities so I can rip some fools' spines out old school style.

Also don't forget, you had to pay extra to get some of these like Ermac's by ordering a special edition, or buy the game full price on a vendor specific pre order. Does that mean those people "paid for on disc content"?

I'm still going to buy them and it's all about supporting NRS. These guys came a long ways to getting this franchise back to its roots.

The thing is, a lot of people are angry because this is stuff that was already on the disk, yet people are being charged for it. I don't have a problem with it because I don't really care and if I don't feel like buying it, I wont, but, yeah, the issue isn't really spending money on DLC in general, it's the fact that NRS is charging for what we 'already have'.

Its 10 items in total 7 costumes + 3 fatalities= .50 cents USD per item.Im pretty sure it isnt the price people are upset about ( I certainly hope not,if that is the case, you shouldnt be buying $60 games in the first place).like a few others said, this DLC is not required to play\complete the game.dont buy it,it isnt a necessity.it wont make the gameplay any better.but it will make some characters look better.really it is a personal preference.just like options in cars.you dont have to buy the loaded model, you could still drive the stripped down model.but wouldnt it be more fun to drive the one with a\c,cd\mp3\gps, back up cam,etc...;)

To answer the question no im not disappointed cause I never really believed they would be free.I also dont blame NRS,I blame the uber greedy publisher, WB.
