Whats with all the special treatment to Kratos??

Kratos is all about the 'I'm bigger, meaner and I don't give a shit about anyone' going for him. Raiden has the 'rules are set up, we must not break them' attitude. Unless I'm missing something from the story.
 
Who cares? Seriously, why would this even bother you? Oh no, fatalities on Kratos are slightly different. The way I see it, at least it's something different to look at rather than being the exact same thing.

Yeah, if you don't get it, then you really just don't know anything about the character. Raiden is not even a powerful god, Kratos eats gods like him for breakfast. Lemme put it this way, Kratos kills things the size of continents. By himself. There is nothing in the MK universe that even compares to the power of the minibosses he fights let alone comparing to his own power. It makes total sense to anyone who has played a GOW game and it's a nice little detail.
 
I really hate the fact that many people talks and talks and they never played any GOW game, if you dont know anything about Kratos dont say anything and go and dont play as him.

Raiden is Kratos' french fries in a whola mc combo of greek monsters.

It isn't a big deal at all. It's not like it's a gamplay issue lol, I mean by the end of next month I bet many won't even be using the fatalities anyways.
 
I would prefer Kratos Hydra Armor rather than Fear kratos

I thought it was stupid for Kratos to get treated differently in certain fatalities, like Mileena's 1st and Cage's 2nd.

Your statement and Fox17's below yours makes it sound like it should be offensive to you two that Kratos can even lose a Mortal Kombat match at all in the game. Yet from what I've heard, he's not even one of the stronger combatants. So, is that controversial? If not, why? Hey, I'm the first to admit I've never played a God Of War game so maybe there's a reason my first impression of this news is different. I simply offered my initial reaction and why. If he's in the MK universe, I'd expect the MK rules to apply, is all.

I appreciate you trying to explain, but I'm not sure I accept the reasoning. I don't want to make a deal out of it, I'll just make my counter-point and drop it: So Johnny Cage is able to win a match vs Kratos in the game and that's okay? And he can karate chop Kratos' head in half, and that makes sense? But he can't stick an award in his split-in-half head it because Kratos is too powerful? *Shrugs.* That just doesn't add up to me. Sounds more like Sony just wasn't willing to see their "star" degraded. Hence the "diva" comment.

Edit: Re-reading, it sounds like Johnny Cage just pushes him down for a fatality? But the point stands: He's in the MK universe and lost the match, therefore he's not an "all powerful God" in MK. He's just censored for Sony. IMO.

He is not humilliated for respect to the character, he is not a NRS creation they have to respect him, thats why fatalities are censored opn him.
 
Haven't seen Cage's 2nd fatality on Kratos, so can't really comment on that one.

However, concerning Ermac's pest control fatality, it kinda makes sense that Kratos wouldn't be phased by being shrunk. In the GoW mythos, he regularly fought huge opponents. I find it a nice little touch that he stands proud in face of the suddenly enormous Ermac, actualy trying to face him down. He gets squished like everybody else, doesn't he? Just because he's used to facing gigantic monsters, so he doesn't run around frantically like a headless chicken, I simply see as a nice and humorous touch. Nothing more. It's fitting though, IMO.

Same with his babality. I find it humorous and fitting. No big deal at all. To me, that doesn't really seem like "special treatment" tbh.

They didn't make him OP gameplay-wise, so why should it bother you he's affected differently in 2 single fatalities? In any case you'll see them very very rarely.

EDIT : Maybe it's simply because they used assets from GoW and the character is build differently, which is why some fatalities simply weren't possible to be programmed like that? After all, his head does seem smaller or different to those of the other fighters..

1. Kratos is tiny because Spartans were barely 6 feet tall (seriously) average height I believe was around 5 9, 5 10... They were smaller guys, they weren't some hulking creatures.

2. Kratos is received that way because he's not afraid to die, he's died before, he knows he'll die again. The man crawled out of hell.... like 3 times...

3. The reason he's getting "special" treatment, is that he's a guest, even so... He's not getting special treatment at all... It's his character...

I seriously hate MK fans sometimes, it's between you, and street fighter scrubs (i mean scrubs, not fans, not pros, scrubs) that literally ruin things... I mean I love MK, i eat sleep and breathe MK, i've wasted my money on MK many times (strategy guide, buying "scorpions" katana ((when in actuality it's Kenshi's sword)) buying Scorpions shaolin monks figure (((which ran me 60 bucks))) Just to prove my loyalty and that I am not trolling )

I do not in anyway like God of War, never played it, I bought the new Kratos psp, but that's because red and black are my favorite color combo besides blue and black.... I got both GOW psp games with it, still haven't played them....

I in no way give a hot damn about Kratos, but I am glad he's in, I can accept the way NRS portrayed him, I in no way think some asinine thought like "he dilutes the Ps3 version of the game, therefore ruining the true MK experience" or "Kratos makes the ps3 version not a real MK" no **ck that.

Seriously, there's a difference between being a fan, and being a complete uber-dick ridind-close minded idiot.

I love to read the hate everyday cause it makes me laugh everyday... Whether it's crying over Kratos, or it's crying that this person isn't in the game....

At least we got the damn game, WE GOT THE DAMN GAME! WE HAVE.... THE.... GAME... This game for all you know could have never existed... Think about that... Armageddon and MK vs DC..... you're lucky Warner gave them 1 more chance....

Huh? This thread isn't complaining about Kratos being in the game. It's a discussion on how he's being treated differently (the fatalities performed on him apparently aren't as harsh). When you're "hating MK fans," maybe you should read closer before you go off on an unrelated tirade.

Some people think the different fatalities against him are fine and are appropriate for his character, and some (like me) don't think he should have been treated differently.

I am sorry you feel that way, but, that's the way he was received.

how would you feel if an MK character was featured in Street Fighter and he was completely and utterly disrespected, lets say, Scorpion, and he wasn't his trade mark yellow, instead he was pink, did ***t for damage, and instead of saying get over here, he said "come here silly goose"

that would piss you off wouldn't it? Cause it's out of his character, it's not him at all.....

Plain and simple, the reason why Kratos gets the treatment, because this is Kratos...

I haven't seen Mileena or Cages fatalities on him, but, oh well. He's not really the type to be humiliated, and well, the saying is "you don't burn bridges." This could have been a keen opportunity for NRS to include Kratos, and possibly get an ally in Sony Corp....

So be glad it happened, for all we know, this means future games for many years to come.
 
I still think there is nothing bad threating kratos different, recently a guy i dont know who bad -rep me because of that. and i really dont understand I only said that Kratos is threated that way because is a guest and is not NRS creation they must show respect to him.

Also for the guy that -rep me for defend my word, thanx you (sarcasm) ;) you are the fanboy not me
 
Scorp- Say hypothetically Superman was the bonus character for Xbox. But every time you do a fatality to him, the screen goes dark and you simply high five him and that's it. Hopefully you'd say "Geez, that's a bit far. If we can't even do fatalities on him, they should have found someone else. Either they should have made him fair game for it or he doesn't belong in MK." My point is I feel that any preferential treatment is too far. Others are free to disagree though.

Fox - That sucks about the rep, I'm new to the board so I dunno how that works, but it certainly wasn't me down-repping ya. I consider this a healthy discussion, nothing to be offended by. Maybe it's a can of worms not worth opening though.
