What's the point of "Hidden Cursor" ?

Like other people have said, to prevent counter picking. This game is very much match-up based so some people would pick a character depending on what character the other person picks and hidden cursor removes that.

i don't want to hijack the thread and unsure if this is worthy a whole new thread but what about the controller preset. i never get that to work. i assumed it would tie a character to that certain controller, never seems to work unless i am just failing lol

the controller presets are button configurations that you set from the main menu in the options, doesn't have anything to do with what controller slot you take up.

It was made for the sole purpose of picking KL/Raiden without having the other player rage quit.

This was my issue with fights last night. I dont have an issue with Kung Lao. His stuff to me is mostly predictible. Its Raiden last night that was irritating the hell out of me. I have yet to figure out how to beat the constant back-and-forth Superman and the teleport/over the top foot stomp. And, of course, was always hidden cursor picked.

i admit i use it. mainly because i already know the matchup between my noob and smoke/jade. id rather try some other fights!

I might start using it because I'm sick of facing sub zero against my jax, always those damn ice clones, but come on people I have a ground pound and will quad slam your slide!

It's stupid. I always pick Sonya and my selection always happens before they get a chance to pick yet they still do hidden. Uh, yeah, I already chose my character so as soon as you click yours, I can't change mine, so no point in hidden.

People that hide their selection and/or counter pick will never get better at the game. Because the only reason a person would do that is to prevent counter picking. But that's the thing, how can you even get matchup experience if you avoid your bad matchups?

I always pick Stryker. And when my opponent tries to counter pick me by choosing Noob, Jade, Smoke, Kung Lao, Raiden or Kabal I don't mind. I just see it as a good challenge for my main. If I win, if find it very satisfying to have beaten a 4-6 or 3-7 matchup. And if I lose, at least I get more experience vs those characters so next time I fight them I'm going to be better.

thats too logical of an idea, online it basically comes down to the win LOL

its sad but true. Thats why i don't even play online. its never the fun of playing its all set on the win

This is the part I hate about online too. People do anything to win, regardless of what it takes. I miss actually battling people in the arcade. Where you could see who you were playing and call them out on their ********. But the crowd I played with didnt do the ******** anyhow. It was a lot of really good battles. Now ... I can handle maybe 3-4 matches online before I am so frustrated with the sorry playstyle that I just turn the machine off.

I find this to be true as well. I am normally either Sindel, Kitana, or Skarlet ... and I am usually picked before they have so its pointless to hide their Scorpion/Smoke for 15 seconds cause Im going to find out anyhow.

well to be fair its not that logical for the reason i listed, ive played my bad matchups (smoke) a billion times, id rather get some experience in other matchups, so ill hiden cursor.

What I want to know, is why people that hidden select, always go to KL or Raiden anyway.

I get a match, I just go straight to one of my mains (Nightwolf, Sindel, Sheeva or Jade).

No messing around.
