This is not a real story im just wondering how other people would handle this situation.

So this is where I'm at right now. I have a friend that works as a tester on the ...... series. Now they finished work on the game they were working on and were givin a new assignment for testing. Kombat pack 2!! He divulged some of the things that are koming out to me at the bar one night and I am sort of excited for this but I cannot tell anyone. So do I say something or keep it to myself until boon speaks up and releases info?i am excited to hear what people think about the new stuff and want to talk to people about it but I would hate to ruin the fun that neatherrealm has in store for everyone. What do you think I should do and before you answer give it some real thought of how knowing before they want you to will impact everything M.K

i agree with BBBLP ... no one will believe you anyway.

Unless you wanna give us the first initial of the 4 fighters. That way you don't spoil anything and when they are eventually released you will prove to all of us you weren't full of it

Sorry guys this is hypothetical and I want this to be your story and I want to know what you would do in this situation. A friend and I were talking about it last night and we both had completely different outcomes and I wanted to see what people here would do.

I would never consider anything anyone say as being fact until proven so when it comes to game leaks and the like. People can write an entire thesis about "THIS IS HOW IT IS, THESE CHARACTERS ARE IN, THIS IS THE GAME, I KNOW THIS!" and I wouldn't bother to read it through, because it is not official info before officially confirmed by the devs!

So if we say this hypothesis happened and you were to post it on the interwebz, I wouldn't believe you. Not because you aren't right, but because you aren't an official source. You could end up being 100% right, but it wouldn't matter.

So I would say, keep it to yourself.
Also, it would make you a more trustworthy friend of the one who told you these things and asked you not to pass it on. If you passed it on anyways, even if promising not to, that just makes you a douchebag.

Like I said, I would just post the initials of the characters to prove I'm not full of it while not spoiling anything too. Win/win

Theincubuslord Your writing as if your talking to me instead of this being you. I only want to know what you would do I don't care if you believe me or not because like I said this is not real. I want you to be the person and that's it no one else.

My answer would be the same.

This reminds me of the 1 dude who said that he knew someone at NetherRealm that told him that the last DLC was going to be Freddy Krueger for MK9.
Everyone (including me) seriously doubted the dude, and lo and behold he was right.

I've got more respect for some of the workers at NRS, so I wouldn't personally divulge anything and keep it to myself (so as not to burn any possible future bridges), but if the guy actually knew that info and said "I was told that ___________ are the 4 KP2 characters and ___________ is the arena that is coming as DLC," and he ended up being right, he'd only end up making his doubters look like fools. ;)

Just keep it to yourself.

Over the years, the amount of people who constantly say "I know a guy who knows a guy," got ruined by a bunch of trolls... or people trying to be a troll, such as this guy:

This user back on MKO, claimed he got an early copy of the game and when his "camcorder" started working again, he'll post his videos. Not a single person believed him. This was back in 2011. Now here comes MKX, the guy comes back under a new username and kept asking people if they remembered his old account, and when people really weren't giving him an answer, he tried doing the same exact thing.

What an idiot, trying to pull the same joke twice on the same people who didn't even fall for it the first time. I even called him out on ruining his joke when he kept asking people if they remembered his old account.

It's people like this guy or those who claim they know someone from the company or even truly believing that Gamestop employees have an advantage in knowing game info before the rest of us, they ruin the opportunity for people who actually have legit info to tell us. Whether they want to tell everything or be vague, you're just never going to please everyone because of how others have acted in the past, or just people won't believe you unless you show legit proof.

So it's better to just keep things to yourself.

There is no source this is a what if scenario. Now I personally said that I would not say anything because I actually like the way Ed s with us and I think it would ruin everything while my buddy said he would do the opposite and tell everyone because he feels there is nothing wrong with it. It was a good conversation over a lot of rum that we even included many people from the pub in. Most of the people at the pub also said they would tell and one guy even said he would try to charge people 5 bucks to know that they would have to pay after the reveal was official. This is just a moral social experiment to see how most people would handle this situation and completely false as I have said many times now but I get the feeling that some people are thinking this is legit and it's not I just want to have the fake people in the story be you and your friend to see what you would do. Thanks to everyone that understood that.

I feel like the people in the put who are willing to spill the beans about company secrets and even sell them to people are the same people who wouldn't be able to handle working alongside celebrities in a recording studio, on a film set, TV crew or any other professional entertainment environment, without going apeshit and freaking out.
