What they are pretty much doing to Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) (spoilers in a way)

People are failing to realize that this is an alternated timeline and things are going to change in it! Sub-Zero has constantly managed to overcome everything and this time he hasnt. Some of you so called Sub-Zero fans are giving us Sub-Zero fans a bad rep because your so upset about the fact he is a cyborg now.

This change does not wipe out his past history in the previous games. Everything he has done in the previous games is still cannon and it still happened. Now we are in another cannon alt timeline.

Perhaps I should I write a giaganitic essay for some of you

I agree so wholeheartedly with this statement, despite some typos. But writing an essay isn't the answer, with some of the dolts on this forum, it'd just be wasted words.

Cyber Sub's existence doesn't unmake those great stories, 'cause you can't un-tell a story. They are there to revisit whenever you'd like.

However, tell me one story decision the MK team hasn't un-made, and I'd hear you out. But they brought Johnny, Liu, and any other number of dead MK characters back, they'll bring bio-Sub back too.

As far as the people who are anti-cyborg in general: if you'd prefer a Mortal Kombat without sci-fi elements, then you'd have to go back and change the first one. Kano has been partially robotic from the get go. I prefer more characters in my MK, and a variety of them as well.

What have I started? It just sucks to see your favorite character be messed with, no one usually likes change, but I know everyone who was fans of other characters saw them die all the time and have dirt luck, while subzero has become grandmaster and such. I dont remember who said it, but someone said that Subzero didnt help with any of the tournaments, especially mkda and mkd....ARE YOU DRUNK?! Those are the tournaments he helped the most! Especially mkda! I dont know where some people get their information. But its like loving noob saibot, and then they say hes the weakest out of all of them, and he realizes he wants to be a girl and gets a sex change..how much do you like him now? lol The only reason im not super angry is because human sub is still playable.

You do know Sub-Zero did not actually participate in MKDA or MKD right?

During MKDA timeline he was off fighting Sektor for the Lin Kuei and he came upon Raiden's group [the ones who died at the hands of the Deadly Alliance Kitana and the like] he left and after Frost betrayed him he buried her thinking she was dead, while he returned to ER, to the Lin Kuei. When he was attacked by Baraka and company. Then Frost attacked Lin Kuei and he confronted her locking her away.

He never actually participated in any tournament bar MKA. Where he died.

Edit: Well he did in 2, but his role was minor at best.

Edit: That's kind of the reason I said he never participated nor was he important to the tournaments. Because factually [I know we all love Sub-Zero but dude, read up on his history before calling others out on information you lack not they who say otherwise] he didn't have any importance.

Lol I was just gonna say where did he get his info! You beat me to it though Reptikahn. Yeah Sub-Zero played a role but hardly one at that. Deception he had no real involvement there either besides his own conflicts with Noob and Smoke, he had a little to do with hotaru and the tarkatans but not much.

Just so said user doesn't try to call me out again:

Here's pretty much what happened.

Some time afterward, the cyborg Sektor assassinated the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei and challenged Sub-Zero to a fight for the leadership of the Lin Kuei Clan. Realizing how great an opportunity this was, as well as recognizing Sektor as a threat, Sub-Zero used his ice-power to defeat him, gaining the position. Sub-Zero also came into possession of the Dragon Medallion, which enhanced his freezing powers to levels he had never thought possible (as a side effect, it appears, it also changed his appearance). Great changes were made to the Lin Kuei after Sub-Zero's victory. He moved the Lin Kuei to a remote area in the Arctic where they would not be disrupted and began training them as a force for good, teaching his students not only formidable fighting skills, but the value of life as well, turning them into seasoned warriors rather than mindless assassins.
Sub-Zero held a tournament at the Lin Kuei headquarters in order to recruit strong warriors, and a female who surprisingly harnessed the same freezing powers as Sub-Zero emerged as the winner. Impressed by her exceptional skill, Sub-Zero made Frost his apprentice, breaking Lin Kuei tradition. While she was a superb fighter, Frost did not agree with Sub-Zero's philosophies and appeared arrogant and aloof, which would generate some friction between her and Sub-Zero's allies, specifically Sonya.

After Liu Kang's murder at the hands of the newly formed Deadly Alliance, Raiden asked Sub-Zero to join him to fight for Earthrealm's survival. Surprised at the tragic news, Sub-Zero agreed, but mainly for personal reasons - he wanted to gain the respect of his fellow Lin Kuei and prove his worth once again to his clan and to most importantly, himself.

When Sub-Zero and Frost were separated from the other Earthrealm warriors on Outworld, Frost succeeded to steal the Dragon Medallion. Unable to control the medallion's powerful energies, she was consumed by her own freezing abilities and seemingly died. Sub-Zero placed the blame squarely on his own shoulders for her death, feeling he had failed to dampen her pride and teach her the same philosophies of life he had.

Then Deception:

As he searched for a place to bury Frost, he encountered the ruins of an Outworld civilization capable of manipulating cold. After careful study and examination of this race, the Cryomancers, he came to the realization that he and Frost were descendants of this race. Burying her and forgiving her for her betrayal, Sub-Zero donned an ancient suit of armor found in the ruins and enhanced his powers once more. He headed for the portal, to rendezvous with Raiden and the Earthrealm forces. On his way through the Outworld he was attacked by an group of Tarkatan warriors. After killing them in the Living Forest, he was pursued by their new ally Hotaru. Sub-Zero soon found the deadly wounded swordsman Kenshi in Outworld and saved his live. Kenshi reported him about the failure of Raiden and his forces. So they decided to return to Earthrealm together. As Hotaru takes an assault on them and temporary blinded Sub-Zero, it was this time Kenshi who successfully defended the life of his new companion. They defeated Hotaru and continued on their way.
As Shujinko rallied Earth's remaining warriors to defeat the new threat in Onaga, Sub-Zero once again ventured back into the Outworld where he soon ran into Sareena. Since she helped free his brother from his confines of the Netherrealm and also helped defeat Quan Chi with him so many years ago, Sub-Zero offered her asylum within the Lin Kuei. Sub-Zero gave Sareena a small metallic object that would guide her and grant her access to the hidden Lin Kuei temple. The two then spotted two dark figures leaving Shao Kahn’s fortress, it was Sub-Zero’s brother Noob Saibot and his good friend Smoke, the two disappeared into the Netherealm. Sub-Zero ordered Sareena to wait for him at Lin Kuei temple as he ventured after the two, however Noob and Smoke knew they were being followed and attacked Sub-Zero in the Netherealm. The Grandmaster was overpowered until Sareena jumped in fending off Sub-Zero’s would be assassins but not before Sub-Zero was left unconscious, but upon waking Sareena had reverted back to her demonic form, dazed and still very confused Sub-Zero attacked and Sareena fled to the depths of the Netherrealm.

I stood by and watched Johnny die time after time. He wasn't included in UMK3 (my favorite game) and you don't see me complaining. Change is good.

Spoken for the truth lol Most people are not gonna accept this no matter how much we throw good info and good points right in their face. Itll never be good enough.

The other saying that now Sub has victories on Scorpion and Noob... GREAT THING. Give the victories for him and end with his history, Yes, are ending up with his story, so far nothing of great change, Her story was the same of smoke in the past. GREAT ORIGINALITY. Is as I say: could have changed his history, without entering the cliche of automation. We've seen it thousands of times in games and movies.

You are thinking about the possibilities for the future of history WHY NOW is the same of smoke:

Automation: scheduled to be bad and reclaim the memory after. I say: “no need this again”. Creativity what is missing here.

Well like I said it plenty of times before. Sub Zero is great and after the demo and playing the old games once again to hype me for the release... He is at my top once again.

But that doesn't mean i don't like the idea of CSZ.

1. The human version is still there
2. It was so obivious that this would happen, after Boon hinted that the story will change... And everyone who wasn't expecting that... seriously...
3. His old story is still canon and even if it was great people has to realize that this timeline won't be a 1 to 1 copy of the old one... And Sub zero isn't any excecption. At least he still have a big role inthis game compared to other iconic characters like Reptile, Goro and Co.... He get's 2 freaking chapters. And it is better than having the same old story where we know already everything
4. We don't know the future and even as Cyborg he can go a similar way like in the past... Or even having a better story. Hell now with Smoke on his side + he is already KNOWING in this game that Noob is his brother is great. So he still has Sektor, Cyrax and Noob as potential foes
5. CSZ looks freaking bad-ass and is no mindless trash. He can do whatever he wants
6. They easily can change him back for either next game with a simple explanation in his bio or he finds a way at the end of the game... Or they will make him look like a normal human ninja but with some cybernetic enhancement. Don't worry he will come back as Ninja somehow... Maybe even we will get some hints in the FULL GAME. Boon said that the full game has much more than the demo leak. So who knows

To Smoke.
Smoke never had a bif ass story... Even as Cyborg... Hell till Deception he wasn't in any games and was just a mindless piece of trash. CSZ is completely different. But everyone who thought that NRS would suddenly let both ninjas escape is just silly

Dude, you don't know anyting about Smoke compared to Sub-Zero do you?

Here's Sub's story compared to Smoke:

Sub regained his soul. Smoke did not.
Noob Saibot found Smoke abandoned [as he had been for years] after Sub had cut off his power looking for a solution to bring back Smoke's humanity. [Memories/soul]
Smoke was transformed into a cyber demon by Noob Saibot's enigmatic powers. [The guy is powerful beyond imagination at the very least]
Noob Saibot did not confront his brother which only gave Sub-Zero one game to revive or convert his brother's soul since he hid throughout the original timeline.
Smoke and Noob almost killed Sub-Zero in the events leading into MKA, due to ganging up on him.

Now, using simple logic what do we get from this?

First we know that Sub-Zero has already regained his soul and memories making his story more like Cyrax if you really want to make such a simple comparison.
Two, we know the MKD-MKA Noob/Smoke event won't happen. Smoke may help Sub if said event does happen and this will stop Sareena from swearing alligance to Quan Chi again and betraying Sub-Zero.
More chances to get his brother converted and possibly succeed unlike the original timeline.
Finding a path to change back, which is still more emotionally charging than anything the original storyline had. Don't argue this. You know it's true.
We also know without Smoke, Noob may finally review his true intention and plans.
We know Scorpion will possibly lose in MK4 timeline which may or may not cause an early stop to the DA.

Now that's just thinking off changes off the top of my head.

Did you honestly think a reboot introductory would have such drastic changes yet?

I hope not. Remember, Sub-Zero's plot was laughable until MK4, so why would it be anywhere different in this game timeline? [Next MK in otherwords]

Same as Smoke, Frost [whenever she is revealed which she may end up receiving new teachings stopping her from betraying Sub-Zero]

The thing is OldSnake you can't deduce that or confirm that. So cool it.
