"Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever. For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. And with a new fully-connected gameplay experience, players are launched into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy."

This could be interesting, what kind / type of variations are they talking about.

I'm assuming that you can either choose a ''speed'' or a ''strength'' version of the character or something like that. I don't want the game to be full of customizations, see how bad it turned out for Street Fighter X Tekken.

Well, my guess is that each character will have some characteristics that change depending on their costume. Like attack power, X-ray bar, speed, defence, jump distance.

Some interesting info thought. I like it.

Choosing between strength and speed sounds awesome. Gives us a little more control over how some of our favorites will play.

I really dont like the sound of this. I dont want another game with all the earthrealm heroes again.

Interesting, I was thinking along the lines of Hyper Street Fighter 2, choose which version of the character you get based off what game you chose.

I'm worried about balance. Give enough options and it soon becomes clear(at least at a competitive level) that this set up is best. Maybe they have a way to balance it, but having choices isn't always having choices.

Because, like I said, if they give you two options on how to play a character. It'll eventually be figured out that one is a good choice and the other isn't.

Thankfully they can patch the game, so after like 6 months they will balance it out.

I will like characters being a little different, like in MK9 Sub-Zero is that damn slow for me and Reptile is that damn weak, so i will love to switch to less powerfull, but faster Sub-Zero and more powerfull, less faster Reptile.

I'm not too sure on this by the sounds of things I'm really wanting this to continue the mk9 story but I'm getting the uneasy feeling this is gonna be another reboot or a sort of spin off game the multiple versions of characters sounds interesting but until I see more I'm gonna be abit worried, was worried about the last Mk as well but that worked out great so heres hoping this does too

Could it be the return of fighting styles all over again? Just that this time we can only use one fighting style at a time, each style per character having its pros and cons, like more strength or speed as already mentioned. If it is so, it would be a pretty cool revival by NRS, perhaps since now they have the resources and time to implement this to how they could have originally planned from MKDA onwards?

Im assuming this is gonna be a non canon spin off game. It sounds like this game is going to be a celebration of Mortal Kombat since its the 10th game.

^how do yoi figure that? There was absolutely nothing the that trailer indicating story.

Well for one Sub Zero is human which makes no sense since Cyber Sub Zero died in MK9. Also from the press release...

Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game’s most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together.

I guess they meant 'original' to differentiate it enough from the MK4 storyline, but will have to wait for more news to see

Im going to assume that the "choose from multiple variations of each character" will mean that you can choose which character from which game you want.

For instance. If you choose Kitana, you have a choice of "MK2, MK3, MK4, Deadly Alliance, MK9" Each one has a costume representing what the character wore in that game and you will get their move set also. If you pick an early character like MK2, you don't have as many moves in your arsenal but you may do more damage to make up for it.

The "versions" thing intrigues. Could be neat! However, my very first thought was "Oh god, loads of new crap I have to memorize". Haha.

Who knows, maybe this original story co-exists in MK9's timeline. It would make sense. Nothing in there made think this was a side game. That would be really bizarre. There's not much revealed. Just Scorpion and Sub-Zero which is to be expected. We'll have to wait and see why this Sub-Zero is human. I just want more insight of the story.
