What could they possibly mean

I wrote an editorial about it, and i believe we have enough data to know what exactly they meant by that:

Well, time travel doesn't start until only Raiden and Shao Kahn are fighting at the top of the pyramid. Everyone except them and Shinnok (sent his doppelganger to Armageddon) are dead. Shao Kahn kills Raiden in that timeline. We aren't aware of anyone time traveling prior to that. The only people from the old timeline that could enter the new one would be Shinnok and Shao Kahn. The only way this story doesn't turn into a complete mess would be if only Shinnok and Shao Kahn from the old timeline enter the new one. Sub Zero is simply Bi Han since the soulnado split him in two. If they try and attempt anything else then it will be a huge mess.

All of this is making my head spin, as well as making me more and more anxious. Boon better have some good explanations at E3.

What if it all comes out that the "retold" story line isn't being retold as we think it is but what if this is how it all really went down and just leads us right back to where we were with Armageddon?

What if Raiden didn't send himself back in time but simply saw the future and spent all this time trying to change the outcome because he thought he was about to lose it all when in reality the final spell he cast was strong enough to vanquish Shao Kahn?
