Vote WHO WINS MKX match-ups!

5-5 Kenshi vs Ermac

Unfortunately, it seems Ermac is not following the steps of his MK:D version. A good Ermac was a very wise Ermac. And both he and Kenshi shared a story of knowledge, one teaching the other, only to end on the blind swordsmen ironic death at the hands of a morphed Shang tsung into Ermac.

To be fair, I can't see superiority here. Not even the lack of eyes can let Kenshi down. I think both could end up in an equal match.

0-10 Reptile vs Kitana

Look, Reptile is a ferocious warrior and all, but Kitana, on the contrary of the last fight, is far much superior than him. The long time appearances on games may be clouding my judgement, but I really can't see Reptile winning Kitana.

8-2 Sub-Zero vs Sektor

Oh, this one is a good fight. Sektor is a cruel, skilled and letal fighter. He really shows no mercy. But Sub-Zero is a warrior like no other. He is among rare kind of warriors that the best fighters could ever have. Though Sektor could have some apparent victories, Sub-Zero would certainly beat him, because he is a legendary warrior.

8 - for Ermac
6 - for Kitana
10 - for Sektor (just because everybody seems to hate sektor, and because fire is weak against water, not to ice, ice is weak to fire.)

Yes and 10 for Sub-Zero makes sense because you hate Sektor right?

Please go bother someone else, i'm an enormous hater of Metal Music, so your kind doesn't really interest me at all.

I love Sektor, but Sub has whooped him time after time.

And the way Sub deals with cybernetics, by freezing them and yanking them out, a la Kano's eyepiece in the comic, is an excellent strategy against Sektor. Freeze his machinery and it will no longer function.

Because Sub is

1) overused
2) the homeboy of MK
3) goodguy

BTW, all three answers are correct.

Sektor is fire and a cyborg, they don't suffer ice damage as much as punny humans like Sonya and Jax would.

In that way Frost would also K.O sonya, jax, and 90% of the roster with one hit.

Ice is powerful, but not against heat my darling, it is useless against heat.

Last call for any straggler votes!

Ermac 6-4 Kenshi

These guys are both heavy hitters, but if containing the soul of King Jerrod wasn't enough, now Ermac's got Shao Kahn bouncing around inside him as well. That's gotta make him more of a threat than he was in MK9, and I think he was plenty threatening already. Kenshi's only advantage will be in melee, but you have to wonder how much his advanced hearing will help against an opponent who can fly freely.

Kitana 7-3 Reptile

I eagerly await the day when Reptile will become a threat to take seriously... but it is not this day.

Sub-Zero 5-5 Sektor

This is Sektor's first appearance, so I wanna give this one a long, hard think.

What decides any vs. Sektor match to me is whether the opponent is capable of surviving Sektor's initial ranged barrage. The amount of devastation Sektor can unleash from afar is absolutely unmatched in MK by any other character: the guy is a walking, fighting missile launcher, with a pair of flamethrowers strapped to his wrists to finish an opponent off or play keep-away long enough for his rockets to reload.

So what of Sub-Zero? He's not a very mobile fighter, which is something that Sektor will readily exploit. Sub-Zero relies on ice for his defenses, and if Pokemon taught me anything, it's that fire beats the hell out of ice. So Sub-Zero will have a lot of trouble defending against Sektor's ranged assault, and he'll have a lot of trouble getting into close range, too, which is where he shines as a combatant.

I think we're dealing with a Quan Chi vs. Ermac level imbalance here. That said, Sub-Zero is still an absurdly powerful cryomancer, and unlike the mechanized Sektor, his killer instinct is as sharp as ever. That alone makes this an even 5-5, which is the most fight Sub-Zero is going to get out of any mid-tier opponent.

I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this one before I close the round later tonight.
