Very interesting MK vs DC Rant Video

I don't care for super heros or their comics. The only thing that's tickled my fancy is the latest Iron Man trailer.

I'm going to RENT it... just to play as the MK characters.

There are 2 things that will determine if this is worth playing. #1: Gameplay and #2: Storyline.

Gameplay looks like it's going to be VERY good. Storyline may be lacking. It's a good idea because fans have asked for a crossover for the past decade, but we never got one. Now we're getting one. However, I do agree that if they mess up the DC story...it's gonna be hell to pay from their fans.

The thing is, even if I were one of the people who had wanted to see a crossover, there are about a thousand other series that I would've picked over this one. I love Batman, but in an MK game? No thanks. Just about everything else in existence would mesh with MK better than DC comics.

THey picked DC for one reason MONEY,MONEY,MONEY.I'll bet you the suits at the top had the say on this.NO wonder Tobias left when he did all those years ago.

I don't feel excited about this game anymore. I just really can't imagine Subzero beating/getting beaten by Batman, let alone, Superman?

well i may be apt to agree with you marathon except they've made several big mistakes in the past imo...first of all, when they went from arcade release to straight to console releases, they did it without much a fuss....which, besides it being one of the worse mk games, mk:da didn't fare so well. then if that wasn't bad enough they introduced kreate-a-fatality, oh wait i'm skipping ahead. first they introduced little "cutesy" games to play, which yea it may have been cool once and awhile beating someone on chess kombat, but those games got old real quick and there are other ways to play these games, ie battle chess. then came kreate-a-fatality, and they took out the uniqueness of each character having their own distinct finishers...now it's up in the air as to whether this game will even have fatalities or not. the only person who knows why tobias left when he did is him and midway, and since i don't know him so i'm not going to say why he left, however i do have to say that if he were around now he'd probably be getting as much of the flack that boon's going to be getting.

This, really, makes me sad...i was really sad... near the end, i was just like omg, it brought back memories, i feel like a little kid, but it made me sad sorta =\

I like this video. It pretty much sums up how I feel about this. It's just a bad idea, plain and simple. He hits on the points that Midway can barely keep their own characters canon. And the fact that this is the exact opposite of everything they've been promising MK8 would be. They promised a dark, serious, reboot of the series. Now we're getting watered down "T" rated kiddie pandering cross over crap. It's like when Aliens finally met the Predator and it came out as flipping PG-13 because they wanted to market it to kids. It's a disgrace to everything the series used to stand for. Blood, and gore specifically, is one of the largest things that put MK on the map. A "T" rated MK game is like if they took Saw 5 and decided to make it PG-13. It's just not Saw anymore. Just like this is just not MK anymore. At least, it's not the MK we used to know and love.
