ultimate mk9 can wait at LEAST a year.

with the announcement of umvc3 everyone is asking for ultimate mk9 now. WHY? updated games are good but NOT after the game has been out less than a year. i'm not saying i never want ultimate mk9. just wait 1 year at least. why would you want to buy the EXACT game you just bought 3 months ago? anything they can put in a new game in less than a year can be added as dlc. does anybody agree?
 
I agree an ultimate / GOTY edition can wait a good while...just keep releasing DLC in installments. We will pay for it.

they can put more characters in as dlc. thats my point. a new story can wait for mk10 which i dont want to see for another 3 years if they do ultimate mk9.
 
how about this

UMK9

everything in MK9 +all DLC, +1 new outfit for each character, +all bosses playable, +2 more characters (chameleon and tanya), +a 4 hour story mode continuation. 40 bucks.

that would be pretty bad ass
 
wow we r already talkin about another mk? i mean do we even know how many copies have been sold yet? usually that is the way they determine if another mk is gonna be produced. we need to get a good idea of how successful mk9 was and is before we start demanding a new game. this game is a masterpiece i think we need to let the current mk get at least six months on the market before we start making predictions as to the relevancy of the next one. right now i think the only thing that could make this game better is a rebuild of the online experience. they need to just take the server down and start from scratch. they promised us the best online experience available and fell short of the mark. additionally umk9 should be an upgrade like ssf4:ae is, not a new game altogether. just some thoughts get back to me on dat yo.
 
I'm all for a UMK as long as the online aspect is overhauled.

Features they could add:
- 2v2, 4 player online Tag
- Test your luck online
- Get rid of gamespy if possible
- Make any compatibility packs mandatory

I love MK9, and I'd gladly buy an UMK with these changes. I think if they waited until at least December to April 2012 at the latest, I'd be fine with purchasing it again.

I'd imagine that they'd try to release it in April so that it'd be supported by Evo next year, or whatever year they'd release it.

dlc upgrade for $15 is a good deal. but like i said at least a year. also i dont think you understand my intent in making this thread. i am with you. i don't know why people are already asking for mk10/umk9. BUT since all the discussion is already out there, i'm just asking people why they want the same game we just bought 3 months ago.

Right on, you can't believe how many peeps want to move onto the next MK already, while they probably don't even know half of the current one :)
 
The ONLY thing that would make me buy a Ultimate Mortal Kombat is if it'd have MOTARO. Otherwise, I am happy with DLC.
 
Boon allready stated their "story guy" is busy working on "the next game". I'd gladly buy an UMK9, whenever they decide to release it.
 
Its not the exact same game you idiot. It would be about 10 more kharacters and then they can throw in the stuff they didnt have time to finish like Brutalities,Survivor modes. Throw in Friendships,skins and winning poses from the challenge tower and more challenges since their original goal was 600-1000 and thats well worth $40. Thats what they would have to sell it for, otherwise sales would be low.

are you retarded? they can release characters as dlc as well as skins. so really the only thing that would be new would be challenge tower and more finishers. is that worth $40 after you just bought the original 3 months ago?
 
I would love a disc version of all of the current DLCs, 101 patches and future DLCs all together added in with extra story mode, challenges, and levels. I like having disc versions of games rather than DLC add ons. I would only want it though at the end of the year or early next year when all of the DLC has been released and all of the bugs fixed, and for a price of at most $50.

Also, a disc version with all of the updates makes it MILLIONS of times easier for tournaments when you have 20 or 30 consoles that you have to download a bunch of updates on, and multiple DLC characters to pay for, for each console. Once you have a final disc, there's nothing left to download.
 
I'd be pissed if a "Ultimate Mortal Kombat" came out, I mean, I'd suck to have spend all a bunch of money in this game, just to find out that there will be a better version just for cheaper along the line. I don't think NRS is as much bastard as Capcom is, at-least I hope not.
 
UMK9 coming out at all in the next few years will cause me to lose hope in the gaming industry as a whole, and i'll sell everything in my room except for the ceiling.
