Twitter Updates from Ed Boon/NRS for MKX

Re: boon hints sotry dialog?

You guys are technically both right in your own ways.

Scorpion NEVER cared that Sub-Zero killed him. They're both assassins from rival clans. Scorpion wants revenge for what Quan Chi lied to him about. I agree with Jorge on that one.

If this game was following the original timeline, then Subz 711 is right, Kuai is innocent. However, we're in the new timeline, one where Kuai Liang entered "MK2" so to speak, to avenge Bi-Han, whereas in the original timeline, he could give a shit about avenging his Brother, knowing he was a casualty in war, and chose to honour him by attempting to finish the task he was assigned with; killing Shang Tsung.

That, and like Araknyd has said, Quan Chi confirmed it was Bi-Han who did it with his little slideshow, even though it is a lie. And Kuai Liang even said to Scorpion himself that he's simply there to avenge the person he killed.

A new, potential twist however is if Quan Chi randomly tells Scorpion in the new game that Kuai also had something to do with it, a la MK4. This could be why Subz is saying "I tire of maintaining my innocence".

Yup.
Opposing war factions usually go to war knowing that there is a chance that they'll die in war, but someone's family is something that you don't mess with.

Bi-Han was the one accused of killing Scorpion's family in MK9, which is why I think that Sub-Zero saying "I tire of maintaining my innocence," refers for Bi-Han, since he is the one who told Scorpion "That's not me," right before Scorpion killed him in MK9.
It's essentially as if Bi-Han is telling Scorpion "Look, dude, I told you the first time that it wasn't me (in MK9), and now I'm telling you again. I'm tired of trying to prove my innocence."

A new, potential twist however is if Quan Chi randomly tells Scorpion in the new game that Kuai also had something to do with it, a la MK4. This could be why Subz is saying "I tire of maintaining my innocence".

That could be it too, but Bi-Han is the original one that's had the beef with Scorpion, since the beginning.
Kuai only had beef with Scorpion when Bi-Han was killed.

Right, but since Quan Chi saw their battle in Kahn's Arena, he can use that to his advantage, knowing that Kuai is probably going to come after Scorpion again, he can add fuel to the fire and say that Kuai also had something to do with Scorpion's family's demise. Or another scenario is since Kuai already defeated Scorpion, he got his "revenge" and "honoured" his Brother, Quan Chi in an attempt to make "another Noob Saibot" tells Scorpion that Kuai had something to do with his family's demise. Scorpion then proceeds to hunt down Kuai which could lead to why Kuai says he tires of maintaining his innocence.

This is nothing but pure speculation, but at the same time its very plausible and I can see it happening in the next game. This is why I think the tweet made by Boon does not point us in any direction over whether Kuai or Bi-Han is the Sub-Zero in this game.

Agreed, but Kuai-Liang is confirmed dead as of MK9, where as Bi-Han (Noob) could be either dead or alive.
MK9 didn't confirm Bi-Han being dead.
If he DID survive the Soulnado, which is unknown, he could have been purified.

Agreed that it's all speculation, but Bi-Han makes more sense from that statement, at least to me, given that he tried to prove his innocence once in MK9, and now again.
You're right.
It could be either one of them, but I'm just giving a reason as to why it could be Bi-Han.

Either way, I'm just happy that Sub-Zero is human again in MK X. :)

Re: boon hints sotry dialog?

i still think soulnado brought Noob to the Elder Gods and they made him Sub-Zero (and maybe their champion too) like Scorpion in MKDA-MKD. Imagine MKX with both human and cyber sub-zero ;_; ...

Re: boon hints sotry dialog?

I forgot about CSZ's death, wow fail. Okay yeah the Bi-Han story is a bit more plausible, but its MK, anything can happen lol.

Yup.

As of now, Noob is the Schrodinger's Cat of MK X.
He could be considered BOTH dead or alive, at the same time.

The title of this thread is pretty self explanatory. Members should feel free to add more that catches their eye/find important.

Here are some new ones from Ed:
RT @RalfGone @noobde ed boon is kratos coming on Mortal Kombat X EB: Not likely. He was awesome in MK9 but we dont wanna repeat.

Sorry Ames :P. But him saying we don't wanna repeat, could that mean Guest Characters in general, or just Kratos?

RT @lateralusprime @noobde can you konfirm the krypt, sir? EB: Do you want it, sir ?

Well then, seems like he won't shed light on it after all, unless he does at E3.

RT @The_MK_Freak @noobde You guys thought about adding Drahmin in the newest game? I would love 2C him again! EB: Kinda unlikely, sorry.

THANK GOD!

As much as I hate guest characters (in general) I'm thinking that he means Kratos in specific, given that Scorpion was a guest character in Injustice.

I don't think he means Guest Characters in general. Just the ones they used already.

Damn, I was kind of hoping Drahmin would make the cut since he is involved with the Netherrealm and all... oh well
I remember a guy telling Boon that he would really like to see Mavado in the game and Ed's response was something like "You really don't."

So there goes two of my favourite MKDA new characters :/ Still hoping for Nitara though.

Drahmin and Mavado were two decent characters from MKDA and they aren't included. It doesn't bode well for anybody new post MK3 it seems. Other than characters already mentioned (Bo Rai Cho, Havik, Kenshi, Fujin, and Shinnok) I wouldn't hold my breath for anyone. It's a shame, really. I was hoping they'd give Shujinko, Dairou, Ashrah, Tanya and Kai another shot.

I'm pretty happy with that selection to be honest. The rest were poor

Drahmin and Mavado were definitely not the best of the 3D era characters. There are plenty of others who are more likely to return than those two.

I agree, them two and Nitara were my favourite characters introduced in MKDA - they have much more potential, then lets say, Li Mei.
Anyway, I think it is pretty save to say Tanya is in (not just because of the apparent voice actor leak) as she was the only character introduced in MK4, apart from Quan Chi, who actually returned not just for MKA. Plus, she also made a cameo in MK9.

Fujin and Havik also made appearances in MK9, so I would assume their chances are quite decent - Hotaru, who is actually my favourite post-MK3 character also made a cameo appearance as well as his realm of Seido. Shujinko, on the other hand, is less likely to return.

It was actually Bo' Rai Cho, but whatever you say guys :-P!

In all honesty though, I think they're trying to do away with the Red Dragon for good. Red Dragon = 3D MK era = Armageddon Timeline = Daegon.

Speaking of which, 2 minutes to go til the next round of SAY YES/NO to MK characters coming back...

Mavado have potential to become a great character. He already have a story and looks, what he need is good moveset, fatalities and his own weapons.

RT @UjioSangi @noobde do you know what day MKX will be shown on E3 ? First day or second ? EB: All 3 days.

RT @FarulSweg @noobde Will we see brand new fighters? EB: Yup!

I know we've already had the second tweet there in some form but people were still speculating as to its true meaning. This confirms there really are new characters and he doesn't just mean the inclusion of revamped ones.
