TMK WB Rant

Holy shit, its a freaking video game for christ's sake :|. And who gives a flying **** if magazines and other promotions get exclusive reveals and the like, and not fan sites, were fan sites because WE'RE FANS, not goddamn analysts or reviewers or previewers or anything like that. We discuss why we love Mortal Kombat so much, and its fun if we, ourselves find out information, so we could spread it to other members, what would be the fun to have it revealed to us just like that. We are a community, not a damn company. You can compare fan sites to producers and consumers. The producers always know the new stuff first hand, and then the consumers know it a while after. Well, the magazines, tv shows and the like, are the producers and we, the people involved with fan sites are the consumers. Thats the way it should be, no one MADE US FOLLOW OR CREATE FAN PAGES, ITS OUR OWN CHOICE. AGAIN, WE ARE A COMMUNITY, NOT A DAMN COMPANY.

Personally, I didn't watch the rant. I like rants, they're fun, but I didn't bother watching this one as I've got too much shit to do, so I have nothing to add to this topic and will quietly exit to the right now... :vroam:
 
That's his site?! Ugh... I signed up for it some months back and still haven't gotten a confirmation email. And I tried signing up multiple times.

I've butted heads with Luke many times. I know I'm not the only one. He does not take criticism well. While I'm not very fond of him, I try to tell myself that it's just who he is - outspoken to a fault and doesn't take any shit. I suppose every community has a Luke, or several.

I somehow managed to watch his rant in full... all 40 excruciating minutes. I don't particularly agree with his approach on the matter, but I can somewhat understand why he's so upset about the situation. He just wants to be acknowledged. Still, this is not the way to go about it. We do what we do because we're fans and shouldn't expect anything in return for that aside from a good product.

What I'd like, more than anything else, is for MK to be popular again, to be jaw-dropping like MKII, and to be worthy of fighting game tournaments such as EVO. I'm hoping this is a comeback to end all comebacks, and if that means promoting the game in such a way that it will attract former/new fans to the franchise, then I'm all for it.

His replies to comments on the video are rather embarassing. While he may feel he has good intentions, they do more harm than good. IMO, he just gives the MK Kommunity a bad name by acting this way. As others have said, there is a more constructive way to go about getting what you want. I also feel he's just in it for his own good rather than for everyone elses. He's just arrogant in everything he does or says.

That said, I wish WB would figure out what the hell they're going to do with the site.

If you have a fan site, as was previously stated , MK doesn't HAVE to leak ANYTHING.
NetherRealm could just go Hideo Kojima on you, and not say anything else to you, if they wanted to.

Him and his followers don't get it. Why would WB release special shit to fan sites? To sites in which the followers are already up to date on MK news...

That is not smart advertising. Could they give little goodies? Sure. But it shouldn't be expected. And to go on and make a 40 minute video filled with uncomfortable pauses and sighs... It's just pathetic. As I told him on the youtube page : He's the Chris Crocker of the MK community.
 
did he actually updated the site in the last 10 years? it uses tables that's not very modern.

and about the rant, it was so funny, the moments hey almost started to cry :P
the moments he almost explodes like a bom made in a old dusty room
that's why i love the trmk website just a happy community :D
