this game needs better unlockables

Damn right it does, but it's probably not gonna happen. 3D Games era order of importance: Kontent, then Online. Current era order of importance: Online, then Kontent.

What about those NRS vids that asked the crew what they would do with Scorpion's spear, Sub-Zero's freeze ability, and what we would say to Johnny Cage to put him in his place, etc.?

i already posted on your wishlist for mk10 thread
they must have a new way to unlock characters
like having a 50 wins chain, doing a 20 hit combo
beating arcade mode without loosing, stuff like it

I mentioned this on a different site about unlockables. I want the coin system to come back like how it was in Deadly Alliance. I want the system to be a little bit different rather than just winning two matches.

Let's say, in order for you to get a few red coins, you have to perform a fatality.
To get sapphire, you have to do, let's say, five uppercuts throughout the match.
To get emerald, you have to win a Test Your Might challenge.
To get gold, you have to have double flawless victory.

So instead of just earning the coins like that, you have to earn them by doing tasks. Sure, as someone on here mentioned it, people just want stuff unlocked like that. That's just too boring. If there's unlockable characters, I'd like for it to be where the coin system plays a big part in the unlocking.

I agree with Kitty, unlocking characters in Deadly Alliance took forever and that was largely due to the Koin system. It adds to making the game replayable.

Unlockable costumes, fatalities, game modes and stuff like that? Yeah. Stages and characters? No. That shit won't fly for the competitive scene (There are differences in stages, too, like the size of them and that does make a difference).

Besides, I don't want to have to play as a character that I don't give a shit about just to unlock a character I do want to play. Call me an ADD kid, or whatever, but I don't really give a damn. If you need unlockables to keep you interested, it's more likely that you're the ADD kid.

Unlockables was something MKDA and MKD handled perfectly, MK9 had much to learn from those two content-wise. I did not like the krypt in MK9 at all (...and it was not because of the screamer that could pop up at any time. and scare the living shh.. out of you..)

the only unlockable characters should be bosses and fighters who can spoil plot twists (like Cyber Sub-Zero). I hated Deception's hunt for good characters in Konquest - be there at 1st tuesday of the month between 2-3pm to unlock Liu Kang my ass. I don't want to be forced to beat the story mode just to unlock characters i want to play as.

Also Sub-Zero should be the exception of plot twists rule and avaible from the start in human form, or it can be another critical mistake, like Scorpion's absence in MK3

If Sub-Zero is not on the main roster right out of the box, AND that Sub-Zero is not a full living human, AND that Sub-Zero is not Kuai Liang, then I'm demanding a full refund! I didn't pay to see Scab Sub-Zero, I paid to see REAL Sub-Zero!

An amazing surprise would be if Sub-Zero didn't appear in the select screen at all until you play through the story mode and come across a chapter where we see him return to his human form and then a big pop up says, "Congratulations, you have saved and unlocked Sub-Zero!" I'd probably shit my pants if that happened.. Especially if going in thinking they killed him off for good.

MK9's krypt was bland, while MKA and MKD's krypts made you actually want to kome back. It's called replay value. Unfortunately, some people just don't want it for some strange reason. They're like spoiled rich kids who want everything handed to them, and it's sad because NRS listens to them, and to them only.

You must realize that most people will shit all over the game way before they even start story mode if Sub-Zero is not on the select screen from the beginning. More than that, if ninja human Sub-Zero will not appear tommorow in the trailer, there will be TONS of shit.

Personally, i'm fine with Cyber Sub-Zero avaible from the start and ninja form to be an unlockable later in story mode, but this is not what majority of fans want, and to make big money you need to do what majority of potential buyers want you to.

Will it matter though if it is not Kuai Liang?

Not for me.
As far as majority goes, i don't know. Hardcore fans should probably prefer the younger brother to stay as Sub-Zero and older to stay as Noob Saibot. Casuals don't care - he is blue, his name is Sub-Zero and he can freeze his enemies => everything else doesn't matter.
Boon & co...this plot twist is so obvious, that i think they will go with quite opposite - Quan Chi will return to life "older brother", who, in the end will reveal himself as the younger one, kill Shinnok & got ressurected and cleared by Raiden.

Well, Kuai Liang has been Subby in FAR more games than Bi-Han. That fact cannot be overlooked. Plus, didn't NRS scrap the whole "original Sub-Zero" plans in MK9 (with the exception of a story mode cameo)?

Their plans is subject to change. I simply hope there will not be massive ressurection that basically will null effect MK9 events
