this is what the orignal concept for sub mk9 was meant to be..this guy was fired I heard...now it looks like sub in mkx is using most of this design...this looks way better then any sub design used....hence why mkx sub looks so good

Agreed. This guy had some really great designs. Don't know about him being fired. But his Quan Chi and Scorpion designs and the back-stories that followed them were completely awesome.

yeah, his reason for scorpion being yellow was, that the yellow was blood by a netherealm demon split on his corpse to revive him...so in essence he was just a black clad ninja.... so awesome... looksl ike the sub he created though is hands down identical to the mkx one

I know for a FACT that you are WAY off base there.

The Shirai Ryu wear yellow in mockery of the Lin Kuei (yellow is the color of cowardice).

I thought it was that he had to fight a dragon to get outta nether realm and in the process, he got it's blood all over him?
 
Tarkatan trash...did you not READ what I said, that was THE ARTISTS re-imagining of scorpion, he was asked to recreate them, he did....that was the story he come up with... it was never used.

My Mortal Kombat Redesigns
Here are the never before seen Mortal Kombat characters I designed for a Mortal Kombat pitch I made before I left Midway last year. The basis for the idea was a re imagining of the Mortal Kombat franchise from the original premise but mixing modern muti-player and dismemberment game design with the original fighting mechanic.

I also took the original character designs and upgraded them.

Scorpion as a wraith wearing the yellow blood of the demon that helped him resurrected to exact his revenge against his mortal enemy.

I think Johnny Cage in MK9 was cut to the new audience who are about 10-15 years old, that's why i hoped he will die in the end, but he survived. Will he still be a walking joke in MK10? I think yes, only this time around he will do less amount of jokes and stupid tatoo from his chest will probably disappear. I will be glad if he will die in the intro - similar to Liu Kang's death in MKDA. I also hope Boon will not force Bo Rai Cho on us, cause it seems this poop guy can appear and Cage will be pretty serious compared to him.

And i like Cage's MK1/MK2/MK4 incarnations.

MK3(not UMK3) had a great tone as well - it was like Armageddon/Judgment Day on earth in nearest future. Mistakes were done here - no Raiden, no Scorpion, Nightwolf's inclusion, dumbed down fatalities, Animalities in 8 bit style.
 
This makes me wonder, since Cage wasn't in MK3 or UMK3 but made it in to MKT in a completely new form, how or when did they film this actor? I couldn't see them recording this guy just for MKT when everything else was put in from the previous games.
 
They recorded him just for MKT, because they didn't like previous actor anymore. Thought the original plan was not to include Cage at all.
 
After everything that happened, I think cage will be a bit more serious if he's in this next one and they are continuing story. He did mature towards the end of the last game. Maybe his arcade ending will be canned and he'll turn into a badass but with his upbeat personality. Kinda like how Star Lord from guardians of the galaxy seems to be. Overall, a comedic relief character is fine, but like a comedian, he won't be successful unless his jokes are well written and executed.

They likely filmed the new actor after Daniel Pesina was fired.
The previous games had Daniel Pesina also playing the part of the "ninjas," so when they fired him they had John Turk (unmasked MK3 Sub-Zero) playing the part of the other "ninjas" in UMK3 and Trilogy.
All the ninjas were also put in Trilogy from UMK3, but they also had to be specifically re-done for UMK3 by John Turk.
It's not that unbelievable that the same would be done for Johnny Cage, in Trilogy, with a new actor.
 
The MK3 Cage is Chris Casamassa and yes, he was done specifically for Trilogy.

Or they can go by his arcade ending, making both Johnny and Bo Rai Cho relevant to the story.
