The netcode thread

Okay so let me start by saying that based on the quality of the netcode seen in MK9 and Injustice I won't buy the game at full price if MKX will arrive in the same state. I also find it infuriating that I've never even heard about WB or Netherrealm acknowledging the fact that there are serious issues with the netcode and now that MKX premiered at E3 there was not a single word mentioning the online mode. Will there be any kind of improvement? If not then the full price is not justified because half of the game will be broken.

I've played around 120 hours of MK9 so far, half of that was furstration because of the netcode (the other half was single player of course :D). I'm the kind of person who finds it hard to give up on something he likes a lot so I just kept on trying and trying but only around 10% of the matches played were enjoyable or close to enjoyable, I even switched router, swtched connection, did everything that is humanly possible. I don't want to repeat these things and I won't buy the game on full price if it will be the same because I think that WB and Netherrealm should suffer the financial consequences of a faulty product even if the single player experience is top notch. I advise everyone to try and request information from WB and Netherrealm about the netcode, we should make them care.

I'll admit, the net code was terrible in mk9 - but I like the improvements they made in injustice. It can only get better.

Have you guys played MK9 since Gamespy went down?
The new servers are INFINITELY better. They aren't perfect, but it's a great improvement.

The console versions had Gamespy? As for PC it was Steam from the start and it was bad and still is (not because of Steam of course), just played today.

The MK9 servers are still terrible. I couldn't get passed the character select screen when trying to play with a friend, without it disconnecting.

I played last night and this morning it was worse then I remember, went and played KI instead after a few rounds.

I played with Outworld Goddess the other night and it was almost like I was offline.
Plus those green ping bars in chat rooms actually work now, so you can reliably see someone's connection.

IGAU's netcode actually isn't that bad. Most of my matches are smooth. MK9 on the other hand..... :(

Man, I haven't touched MK9 in years. If what bbblp says is true, I might have to dust off the cobwebs.

I picked MK9 back up a few days ago and I was JUST thinking to myself how much smoother online was compared to when I left. I was pretty shocked... Whatever this Gamespy incident is, it obviously worked on my end.

Also, my connection is pretty bad, so... LOL.

I'm about to hop on if you want to get your assholes kicked in.
