For those of you that read it and how it says that the story is all around us with the symbols, etc in music artwork and stuff.

Here's another sign

Also this is a SPOILER. DO NOT READ FURTHER UNLESS YOU READ THE BOOK!!!

When I was half way through the book I narrowed the Teacher down to three characters, Teabing, Vanet (bank president), and Remy.

The obvious answer was Fache (the police chief), but after a few more chapters, I said nah too obvious.

After Remy said, "You'd be surprised who the teacher is." I narrowed it down to Teabing and Vanet. In the hostage in the car scene with Silas and Remy, I was like, oh ok the Teacher is Teabing...Low and behold it was.

Uh, yeah, it was a great book, but I don't see what that picture has to do with Christ and Mary Magdalene.

it's like the movie national treasure......

About obsessed people trying to find the holy grail, but they never find it. It's more or less symbology.

Pentagrams are everywhere, though, that picture doesn't really say anything special. I could find about a million pictures with pentacles in them in about two minutes with Google. For instance:

Those aren't pentacles...A circle has to be around them

A pentacle is simply a five-pointed star. A pentagram is usually (but not always) the star with a circle around it. The symbol in the pic you linked to was an inverted pentagram, which is the absolute wrong way to represent it. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.

I think Upwards it means christianity and downwards it means satanism, because the tip points upwards (heaven) or downwards (hell)

No dude, the pentagram/pentacle was around way before Christianity even began. It's a Pagan symbol with many different meanings and interpretations. For instance, each point of the star can stand for a different element: earth (or dirt), fire, wind (or air), water, and the upmost point represents the element of spirit (or a higher being). It can also stand for the relationship between man and earth, with the star having five points like a person and the circle representing our planet. There is no set definition, but it has no true ties to either Christianity or Satanism as it predates both.

Satanists do use an inverted (or upside-down) pentagram for their religion, but in that form it's just a bastardized version of the real symbol and doesn't reflect its purposed meaning (think of it like an inverted cross). The roots of the pentagram also have absolutely nothing to do evil or Satan (Satan was of course created by Christianity), and religiously is usually affiliated with Wicca and other earth-based religions.

I seriously doubt it's allegory. Dan Brown ain't that deep. He's a real jerk. Can't be a real jerk and deep at the same time, can't be done.

Ok yes it was a great book. Has anyone read all of dan browns other books they are also really good books i i would reccomend them to all who liked the Da Vinci Code!

BTW everything has ties to other religions and the past...Name 1 thing that is made up by christianity?

They copied almost everything from past religions!! halos, the cross, GOD!

Cool, my intention's always been to dispell whatever misconceptions people have about the pentacle. It's good to know someone can help me spread that. :)

Yeah, even the Christian holiday Easter, which supposedly marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is derived from the Pagan celebration of Ostara. I'm not even going to get started on that whole thing, though, I'll be here for days.

Physical resurrection?
Evangelical letters?
Child conceived by the Holy Spirit?
Atonement theology?
Need I go on?

edit:
Almost forgot, halos only appear in art, and what other religion uses the cross as a religion symbol? Who in their right mind would want to use a cross as a religious symbol? In Jesus' time crucifixion was considered such a shameful, degrading, and ugly death that often people wouldn't even talk about it!
