That TV spot

In case anyone missed it, Mortal Kombat's Facebook page shared their new TV commercial for X:

It looks like a pretty noticeable nod to this old MK gem:

Mortal Kombat of course is the only video game that can cause mass hysteria in cities and people to run amok looking for Kombat.

I like both MK and SOAD but I didn't like that spot that much. I thought they would include more gameplay and have the fights match with the song, that would have been great.

I could be wrong but I think we'll be getting a longer version soon. That's just the 1 minute version

Yeah that commercial didnt seem right. I like SOAD, but I dont really agree with the song choice. It just seems weird to me that we see tons of people running through the streets while hearing the calm, clean part of the song. I dont feel that the song really fits.

The tapeworm told NRS to use Chop Suey...

not a good tv spot.
people have super short attention spans nowerdays and they open up with 45 seconds of people running about. so thats 45 seconds of not knowing what the adverts for. thats a Loooong time in tv land

kinda disappointing

I'm a huge fan of SOAD but this ad was kinda crappy.
"Chop Suey" is one of my favorite songs but it doesn't match the tone of MK.
The editing didn't help either.

Completely agree, TV ads these days are pretty useless, so in order to make it effective, the product has to be shown within the first 5 seconds.. Luckily, MKX has received huge amounts of promo and hype from digital media
