Surprise surprise, the online netcode is utterly abysmal (video).

only temporally. your telling me you guys have never played a game with bad online at launch?

it could get fixed or maybe the servers aren't on yet
You can't be serious.

When SF3 Online or Super Street Fighter 4 came out people complained about a couple rollbacks at most. That's what people complain about in those games.

In Mortal Kombat 9 entire combos have to be changed around, and it's hard to connect to a good game even now, if you connect at all. In this game, it literally plays in slow motion.

This game is a ****ing JOKE.

Jesus the lag I experienced playing UMK3 on Xbox Live from this Kollection is absurd. Why didn't they just use GGPO netcode, can't you just license that?

I'm happy I didn't buy this (feel like shit for saying this tbh), but man would this game have kicked some major ass if they could manage to do something right -.-

Is it just me, or does MK1 online actually feel ok? Maybe because it is a little slower paced I don't noticed all this slowdown and lag that I notice in MK2 and 3.

According to their own website, NRS has been looking for workers in their online networking department for about 4 months now...and it shows.

Maybe they should search some MAME development forums because all of these games run pretty well online via MAME, and its developers aren't even getting paid. They could've probably just made a MAME port for each console and a dedicated executable for the Steam release, then added the interface and called it a day.

This is seriously embarrassing for everyone involved with this project.

They must be the most incompetent group of programmers on earth.

I don't know how complicated it is to do, but I do know that they touted it as a features which commits them to get it right.

All I know is if I did my job the way they do theirs and sent out a product as shoddy as theirs, I would be summarily dismissed.

I thought false advertising was illegal. I bought the product under false pretens I should be able to sue right? You know they got they're buts covered in the fineprint though

Between this and SF 3rd Strike, I thought my nostalgiagasm was gonna be EPIC. Yet, one of those fully functions online and the other looks abysmal online. *sigh*

FYI the main MAME devs don't support multiplayer and it's only done through unoffical buids with kaillera which the MAME devs don't endorse. So if anyone they should hire the kailerra people. Or they could have used GGPO netcode.

Are YOU KIDDING ME! This is REDONCULOUS!! I've been avidly supporting MK and the roots for years. Had interviews with Ed Boon, received early versions of builds..and this IS TOTAL TRASH!

I figured I would be pleasantly surprised to see all 3 games in one build. I would have even paid up to $25 to get a decent online version!

Outside of playing on my lonesome, the online network play is actually worse than the MK2 version released a few years ago by Midway for the PS3.

How in the world is this possible? I think, I am going to have to make a slanderous review video of this nonsense if this doesn't get fixed quick fast!

I mean cmon, let these WB guys suck it until they stop trying to sell us oldschoolers trash...

I think I haven't been this angry in a while...:(
