They better not kill off Johnny this time.Hes on the damn arcade of the first game.He has more personality than anyone else in the game....

Johnny Cage can be great if written properly. The way starlord is in the guardians movie is pretty much to a t how he should be. His jokes in the last game were cringe worthy though. That's all due to the games writing, not the character itself.

It doesn't matter if Kano, Cassie Cage, Johnny Cage, or Sonya Blade get killed off in this game. They would be back eventually. Everyone thought the characters that died in Mortal Kombat (2011) would stay dead this time, but Ed Boon has hinted, and said in a recent interview that death doesn't matter in Mortal Kombat. So even if Kano dies in X, we'll be good, he's an original character and i doubt they would kill him (or any classic character) off for good, hehe.
 
If Kano somehow dies then I bet they will have him comeback in MK12 and they say that he was never dead. MKDA stated that he didn't die in MK3/UMK3/MKT and that he has been in Outworld for the past decade.

Vogel flat-out claimed the exact same thing 10 years ago. Last time I checked, Vogel has been the primary story writer since Tobias left.

Show me physical proof that retcons Vogel's own words about nobody really dying in MK, and if you can't show me proof within the next hour, then admit that what Vogel said 10 years ago is still true today.

I reckon Jax will reform the Nation of Domination with Cyrax and take over WWE and Outworld. This will open up for Sexual Chocolate to be the guest star and greenlight the long awaited arcade perfect port of WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade Game with online functionality.

You hang on to the words of developers way too much. They can't even stick with one design/idea for a character like Reptile for more than one game. If you think we're ever going to see Stryker again, you're wrong. He's dead. And he's going to stay dead due to a lack of interest. It all comes down to how much they like a certain character. Vogel even said that they offed a bunch of characters in MK9 to give them some breathing room for future games.

And they're only going to bring back the ones they like. It's obvious.

Whose word is stronger than he who makes the game again? If Boon and Vogel BOTH say "nobody stays dead in MK", then everyone else is nobody to contradict.

Considering how often they change their minds, it is only foolish to assume they will stay true to that. Like I said, the chances of characters like Stryker coming back are slim. They brought him back as fan service considering what MK9 was, but they killed him off to avoid having to deal with him and others in the future. Vogel even said they purposely killed a bunch of characters off to lower the number of combatants.

Do you really expect them to bring Stryker back? Be honest. In which case, some characters really do die for good.

And last time i checked, Ed Boon said, in recent interviews about Mortal Kombat X, that death is meaningless in the series, so i think it's still true today. Especially if Mortal Kombat 1 or Mortal Kombat 2 characters are the ones dying.
 
Ok so we know the game take place from the end of MK9 and spanning 25yrs into the future.

Im curious how the game will start. Will is kinda start like how MK9 did? Future to Past and then play on?

Im only curious about this for the simple fact Boon has said that the timeline jumps around. I I think the majority of the game will be linear and played in the future (25yr span) but will have flashbacks to the past (5, 10, 15 yr etc). But thats just my input!
 
Maybe it will start on the 25 years, in a chaotic circunstance, and we will keep jumping to the past to understand how we got there.

Even I think this way, it kinda spoils my fun of having THE BIG BAD on the peak of the 25 years.

Boon once talked about the big bad and then he came up with this thing of lots of bosses. But I think there will be a master boss.
 
I think it'll start with a short segment, explaining what happened right after Mortal Kombat (2011) events, ie Raiden restoring Earthrealm. And then the story will jump to the 25 years after Mortal Kombat (2011) story arc, which will be the main one, with flashbacks to previous years and events.
 
I think the story mode will likely start off where MK9 left off. I do think we will get some type of recap for the people who forgot on what happen in MK9 or never played MK9.
