*SPOILER* End Game Revealed!

Guys, this isn't the "big prize" for beating all 300 missions from Challenge Tower. You know why?

There is already an achievement for unlocking Mileena's 3rd costume. Why would they reveal the Challenge Tower prize in a simple achievement? Like others have said, that was just a placeholder prize; they've already changed it to the "real" prize.

Besides, the demo was an older build; I'm sure they've changed and put in a lot more stuff since then.

I highly doubt both Ed Boon and the other 2 guys would overhype the End Game reward like that. Sure, the "internet-breaking" news was only a Noob Saibot gameplay trailer, but I really don't think they would do that kind of stuff for the actual game. I mean, not every person that will play MK9 are horny 13 year old boys or sexually deprived gamers in their 20s and 30s. Plus, what if a girl beats the End Game reward? Pretty sure they would be pissed off if they find out THAT was the reward for beating 300 missions.

Another thing is that NRS may have anticipated the leaks so they changed/renamed the files to play with us. Doesn't it seem just a tad suspicious that the prize was leaked only a week after the Challenge Tower video was released? There's a lot we haven't seen and NRS is going to make sure it stays that way until after it releases.

We weren't supposed to see that achievement (just like how we weren't supposed to find out about Cyber Sub-Zero--hey, it just occurred to me that Sub-Zero uses the metric system). Someone stumbled upon it when they viewed the achievements webpage in print view. Anyway, the current evidence points to Mileena's Flesh Pit costume being the big prize. It could change, but it's all speculation at this point.

Guys, chill out about this prize. It's the icing on the cake, not the meat and potatoes. Other games have rewarded players with a "Congratulations!" screen and nothing more. Considering how much NRS has beefed up the core fighting system while still adding a dizzying amount of extras, I can't help but feel like so many of you are being completely ungrateful. Take a moment and think about how many other games offer such a comprehensive package.
 
If some turd from the internet can read the files in a few hours wouldnt NRS be very aware of that?

I think they are purposely creating confusion and rumors to help recreate some of the mystery of pre-internet days
 
I'm fine, I'm actually telling other people to calm down about the prize. Did I ever once imply that I was ungrateful? Yes, it is true we are getting a truly amazing package, and my voice is about as calm as ever; I'm honestly just glad I get to see the REAL fatalities and Stryker in another game; I didn't expect the game to have X-Rays, Armless Kombat, a 2.5D appearance, Babalities/Friendships, a Story Mode over 15 hours, Kratos, etc. This "slight disappointment" is in no way going to affect my decision in buying this game, and it certainly won't stop me from loving it.


But, at the same time, I would rather NRS not hype the End Game prize like they did if this were the prize (which I still doubt that it is). Put it to you this way, it's like winning the National Spelling Bee and getting a $10 McDonald's gift card. Not only that, you don't even eat at McDonalds often. Like, yeah, I proved myself to be a great speller and I love spelling, but... this is kinda... not to sound ungrateful... but, is there anything else that came with the prize? I think a lot of people, if put in that kind of situation, would feel the same, you know? It would feel sorta like a ripoff, right?

It just seems too obscure of a thing to be a big prize, IMHO. That's really the reason why I don't believe it is the prize. If you think I sound like in denial or that I sound ungrateful, then so be it, that is your opinion, but you have to admit that there is a lot of credibility behind what I am saying.
 
I always thought The Tormentor (large monster found in the background of the Koliseum and Bridge) would be a great reward for beating End Game. He is large, in charge, and doesn't afraid of anything.

Just make him balanced for online and he'd be great.
 
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! Seeing Mileena naked? really??!?! i can just log on to the bazillion porn sites online and see real women naked who won't eat my face off for free. Did the developers really believe themselves when they said the end reward is "Worth it" or "amazing"....wtf...i was hoping for a new character or unlocking brutalities (which i hear are not in this game...but babealities and friendships are...GAY)

Sorry, I didn't mean to direct that post entirely towards you. I've just seen a lot of posts from other people saying some pretty negative things about the NRS team and wanted to get all that off my chest.

I get what you're saying, but I would argue that the Challenge Tower in itself is supposed to be a fun and rewarding experience. If you LOVED spelling, then the satisfaction of knowing you're the top speller in the country would probably be enough. Yes, a $10 McDonald's GC would be a bit of a slap in the face, but I wouldn't say it's a comparable situation to the Mileena costume. The McD GC is out of nowhere, having nothing to do with spelling, can be purchased by anyone, and has a low measurable dollar value. The Mileena costume is relevant to the game, has value in its scarcity, and it also acts as a visible badge of accomplishment. Moreover, I'm pretty sure that you unlock a lot of other goodies along the way to the top of the tower.

true....my bad.....that comment was a heated one bc i've always felt that friendships, babalities, and the animalities in MK3 or whatever they were in, were what caused the MK series to become kinda lame....personal opinion....
 
Funny you say that, because friendships and babalities were excluded right around the time the series started getting iffy in many people's eyes (MK4), and MK9, which a lot of people are saying is going to be as great as MK1-UMK3 (and rightfully so based on the demo impressions, IMO; I haven't played the demo, I'm just going off of people's reactions to them), includes friendships and babalities.


And also, to SmokeOut, it's cool, man, it's true that there are a lot of butthurt fanboys out there about some of the leaks, but trust me, I'm not one of them. NRS is making the game, not us, and I'm going to spend $63.59 on it anyway, so I see no reason to complain and whine about stuff like this.


I was just using the $10 Mickey D's as an example, BTW; not a very good one, I know, but I needed to get my point across someway or another. You're right, though, we'll unlock a ton of other goodies on the way up; so I guess, in essence, that is the reward for tackling the Challenge Tower.
