Don't know how Fujin could die, but if it happens, maybe he comes back "corrupted" instead of Raiden.
I always be O.O when I think "what if this character become the big bad?" about the characters we can see taking a more "independent" turn.

I hear ya, but at the same time I was kinda hoping that it wouldn't just be Kenshi and Quan Chi in MKX from that era.
It makes sense, though, I guess:
- Kenshi = Takeda
- Jax = Jaqui
- Johnny & Sonya = Cassie
- Then there's the bow character, Ferra / Torr, Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah (which aren't related to anyone) and possibly either Kung Jin or Erron Black.
My only next best hope is that Sonya, Jax, Johnny, Kenshi and Kung Lao all get killed off in MKX and stay dead for a while, so that Cassie, Jacqui, Takeda and Kung Jin take over for them in MKXI.

I checked out the TYM thread, and it seems like there's confusion about whether the article states "Fujin died" or "Fujin dies," which imply different things. I won't speculate until we have something a little more concrete. It does sound like Kabal's been deconfirmed, which doesn't surprise me at all but does make me happy.

Im really starting to wonder if there will be more story mode only classic characters than expected.
Boon said that he thought it would be a missed opportunity "story wise" if someone like sonya wasn't in because It would be cool too see the decedents interact with each other. BUT, that doesn't mean they will all be playable.
(And to be fair Im well aware that it doesnt mean they wont be either)

I wish that was the case, but the whole descendants interacting with each other thing that Boon said made me also think of gameplay intros. :|
Sonya, Johnny, Cassie, Kenshi, Takeda, Jax, Jacqui <=== I could see all of those descendants interacting with each other in various fight intros.
Plus, most of those parents have been hinted at, in 1 way or another, to be in MKX.

If a character is in story mode, you can bet your horses that he/she'll be playable. They wouldn't waste time creating quality models for classic characters if they weren't to be used in other modes.
