I've set it before, but this game to me is the last "old school" sonic game in a way. I mean they made sonic taller and all, but it still has and old school vibe to it. Also the last game of the decade the series was made.

Well yeah, SA2 started a lot of the trends you see in today's Sonic games
 
I remember playing the demo of Sonic Adventure at Target back when the Dreamcast was new. I was like "holy shit sonic plays like mario 64 now", but I hate this big ass controller"
So hearing this music brings me back to playing the demo, also the mystic ruins.

But I never owned a dreamcast, the gamecube version is what system I had it on
 
Same here. Only played the GCN versions of SA1 and 2. Only DreamCast game I ever played was Soul Calibur 1 at Funcoland/GameStop


This might be my favorite Sonic tune ever
 
I loved how varied the themes for the characters were.
I always thought DMX did Knuckles' theme.

Got Generations this morning.
Shit is soooo much better than I expected.


Buying skill upgrades n shit :cool:


I've also noticed that its easy as hell to get high grades in levels.
I've played 5 acts so far and only got 1 A, the rest are S'.

Wait until you beat the game, unlock a super special skill, shriek like a girl at the thought of it, then equip it and discover how much it sucks.

But yeah, S ranks are a joke in that game. It still rocks my balls though.
 
Damn, well thanks for easing the disappointment for when I finally get it :laugh:


But I'm loving this game so far.
There seems to be tons of replay value and shit to do.

And I damn near fainted when I found out that you can change a level's music :love:
 
Yeah, the way they handled the music in general is just ****ing badass. I'll use Palmtree Panic for Green Hill, Hydrocity for Seaside Hill, Marble Zone for Crisis City, Sonic Boom for... pretty much any modern Sonic stage. It's such a simple thing, but that was such a great idea.

Plus the fact that they remixed some tracks from Knuckles' Chaotix nearly made me shed incredibly manly tears.

Hell yeah man, there are some songs I never thought I'd hear again.
My heart skipped a beat when I heard Super Sonic Racing for the first time in 6 years.


Edit: Just played through modern City Escape. My nostalgia meter broke in half when I saw a damn near perfect recreation of the Sonic Adventure 2 stage.
