This is a hard one, I would take either/or in this situation simply because I love Quan Chi and hes the only Post MK3 character that would make total sense in this game. And then theres rain whos a ninja and was there from the 2D era. For personal preference I would choose Quan Chi, but when it comes to deserving, I would say Rain. Then again, Boon and Co. did not develop the home versions of the 2D games, therefore rain wasnt technically theirs until MK:A. In the end, I choose Quan Chi.
 
...i gave my vote to Quan Chi too, but it'd be real downer if Rain won't make it in after all...i just want him either way through DLC or starting roster...

I'll be pissed if rain doesn't show He had some of the best combo chains in MK trilogy. His roundhouse kick would make Chuck Norris proud!
 
Rain. The game is a retelling of the MK1-UMK3. No one was dicussing a "Quan Chi" during this era.

I dont care if his story can be traced back to this time period. If thats the case - he can be traced to DLC....if that.

I understand that Quan Chi has a bigger impact on the story... But still. Rain all the way. Save Quan Chi for the sequel.
 
hmmm this is a hard one cause I like both too. If they re-invented some of Rains moves Maybe him over Quan Chi, but Quan chi could be so kickass in this.. Rain on main roster and Quan Chi as DLC :) That settles that.

This!

Quan Chi has also made a tie-in to so many of the games it makes me sick of him. We get it, he has been around since before the first game, but has he really impacted anything else pre-MK4?
 
Quan Chi definitely.

Rain always seemed pointless to me. Ya, his name is a joke and it's funny, but his powers and story are lame.

i see. I think they will both be in the game in one way or another but definately QUAN CHI OVER RAIN. I read up that rain was spotted in the background of a stage when they were claiming them to be "placeholder" but then was removed but no other background chars have changed from what weve been shown. so he definately has a new model for this game and will probably make an appearance through the story
 
This thread is non-sens : we KNOW that Quan Chi will be in, because we heard his voice ! (remember leaked info, 1 month ago)...

And, oh, i forgot a thing : RAIN SUCK!!! This is a the dumbest ninja i've ever met in a videogame !!!!!

...read my last message a few messages back as to WHY i made this topic and apparently making it into poll...as for RAIN - its just your subjective opinion...
 
Personally Rain because hes a palette swap ninja, was in the MK1-3 timeline, has quite an important story given to him prior to the events in MK Armageddon.

Quan Chi although important in the MK storyline only became important after MK1-3 plus i think its better if they give him the role they gave him in Mk vs DC Universe where he cameo'd throughout the game and become a DLC character later (shame that never happened!)
 
This is why the MKDA-MkA era wasn't that good. they created characters that impact the original story and it's causing conflict. I want Rain in but Quan Chi seems like the better choice because it would help the story more.
 
Some of you need to stop flaming TJ for creating this poll, hes just asking us who we would prefer because these two characters are the hottest topic when it comes to deservedly being in this game. Its a really good idea because we can see where the MK community stands on this topic.

...exactly! and apparently to those people, who say Rain s*cks (prior to Quan Chi)...well he doesnt actually! he might be less appealing for someone or in return more appealing, but he doesn't actually s*ck...
