Shin Megami Tensei

Can somebody summarize that for a broham?
That red is straight murder on my eyes

The color theme is red
The story theme of the game is about being chained down by a society and not wanting to be apart of the world
People that enjoyed P3 and P4 will "feel right at home"
They want players to feel like they can take a step in the right direction in their life and find an understanding in ones self, once they finish the game (which is what I think they meant @flawless)

The difficulty in Devil Survivor is starting to ramp up. Some battles give you conditions like keeping NPCs alive. I'm on a boss that no only cannot be defeated by normal means (thus limited to the MC), an attack that drains the life of the every character on the map, and is surrounded by lackeys who will constantly try to heal the bastard. I may grind a little more to get better demons.

I want to be excited for Persona Q so badly. P3 and P4 characters interacting together? Yes please
Chibi art style? get out of my face woman

I don't mind chibi when it's done well; I wish I could do line work like that.

Atlus representatives said up front they were trying to bridge the gap between Persona and Etrian Odyssey fans. Go figure. I'm looking forward to Persona Q, being a fan of both Persona and Etrian Odyssey. They are very different games though.

Apparently anyone can change Persona's in PQ.

Yo, when the quotes start coming in

One of my favorite fan mixes of the P3 OST.

Have you heard the unused Tartarus Entrance theme? It's creepy as hell, like it could be used in an survival horror game.

I sort of wish they would have used that than the version we got because this beta version definitely adds to the eerie vibe that Tartarus is supposed to give off.

I noticed they called them sub-Personas. It doesn't necessarily mean that all characters can switch Personas like the MCs can. It may mean they have a set of minor Personas that supplement their main Persona with extra skills.

I don't expect skill trees like Etrian Odyssey, but it's good to know that characters outside of the main character have a greater degree of customization. In P3/P4 there was little, if any leeway, in building your characters.

It doesn't surprise me that it's on the PS3 and not the PS4. Atlus seems to always be a gen behind when it comes to Persona. Hell, P3 and P4 both came out on the PS2 a year or 2 into the PS3 gen.

I'm alright with P5 being on the PS3 and it being 2015. P4UA will and PQ will keep me occupied since those will be available this year for the US apparently.

The PS3 currently has a much larger user base than the PS4. It will probably take a couple more years before the PS4 fully takes off. Atlus isn't known for pushing consoles to the limit. They lean more heavily on art style/direction than technical graphics. Their audience is moderate at best and don't have a budget of a AAA title.

Yeah but 2015 I'll probably be finished with my PS3. I hate hooking up a console just to play one game.

Eh, I'm not sure if I'll even have a PS4 by the time P5 comes out, so I'm fine with it lol.

SMTIV OST came out today and I didn't order it because I decided to spend the money at the merch booth Sunday night. Hopefully a download will show up soon.

I like to keep my consoles, since there is still older games to discover or replay. I didn't buy my copies of P3 and P4 until years after they was released.

SMTIV had a decent soundtrack, but several events that happened during the month meant I spent more money than I planned.

I absolutely love the SMTIV OST. There's some songs on here I haven't heard before. There's a song (can't remember the name) that has a the Boss Battle theme from Nocturne.

Are you talking about the theme when you fight the Fiends? Depending on the translation it goes by the titles "Maijin", "Demons", and "Fiend" in Nocturne (Maniax version). Not sure of the official name in SMTIV though.

Nocturne version
SMTIV version

I'm unsure if it's just system limitation of the 3DS or what, but I like the Nocturne version more.
