No, he's terrible. Although I don't get why people hate him so much and love other equally terrible 3D era abortions.
 
Hsu Hao can acknowledge my dick from the back, which means that's a big god damn No. I hated him, totally boring, Kano rip off and I don't even like Kano.
 
Okay, this is ridiculous, I just don't see how Hsu Hao is worse than most of the MKDA newcomers like Li Mei. I believe the culprit behind this hate is Ed Boon and other members of the MK team who expressed their views that Hsu Hao is the worst character in the series. How are fans supposed to like these characters if their own creators practically say they're s**t? This is nothing more than a bandwagon effect and the same goes for Scorpion, who is Boon's favourite.

So, YES to Hsu Hao, I enjoyed him in MKDA - he was one of the most powerful characters, had great special moves and fatality. I would seriously love to see him over a bland character such as Li Mei who has brought nothing but boobs to the table... O_o
 
I got to agree with MKShao_Kahn, I don't think he is really that bad like others are making him out to be. With that said though, I wouldn't want him returning, since the roster size we get is limited, so no.

Just because somebody holds a popular opinion, doesn't mean that they're jumping on a bandwagon. Popular opinions are popular for a reason. You just sound like a hipster. I also hate Li Mei.

Hsu Hao looks like a member of a down's syndrome village boys cover group.
 
Thing is, if my hatred for Hsu Hao was influenced by Ed Boon, I would also hate Chameleon. Which I don't and I think Boon is a jerk for not wanting to fix that situation.

I hate Hsu Hao and Chameleon, but that doesn't mean my hatred for either one of them is influenced by Boon, either.

Hsu Hao- He was one of those characters like Kobra, Hotaru, Darrius and Dairou that never appealed to me.

Chameleon- I disliked him because MK already had 1 Shang Tsung (same goes with Shinnok in MK4, but I can understand his appeal after MK4), and I didn't like the idea of what was essentially the "ninja" Shang Tsung in Trilogy.

But I don't like Hsu Hao and I really don't give a crap about Scorpion.
 
I never understood why Ed's ashamed of some of the characters and even hates a few. Like... WTF? You're the creator, they were in your games and if they sucked in those games it's no one elses fault than your own. And if you won't give those characters another chance, we'll be seeing the same stuff over again.

Yes, I do agree that Chameleon, Khameleon, Kobra, Meat, Ashrah, Frost, Tremor, Hsu Hao and all the other less known and popular characters may not be the best MK characters out there, but why bury them? Why not even try to come up with a way to bring them back and improve them? And most importantly, why influence others by spreading that negative bullshit?

I like Ed, I really do, but in this regard he's a dick.

You clearly misunderstood my post, I am not saying Hsu Hao is a great character - he is not. But he is certainly not the worst one, he gained the status of being the worst character thanks to Boon's contribution. There are far too many ripoffs and unoriginal characters in the series that would deserve that title. As far as MK is concerned, Hsu Hao is a unique character with decent moveset and storyline.

I am going to disregard your last sentence as I do not have any idea how you came to that conclusion...

The MK team made boring, uninspired characters, but Hsu Hao is one of the only characters (The only other was Mokap) I genuinely said "What the f***" to when I first saw him. Boon has nothing to do with my dislike with the character. I only found out that Boon disliked him after he was pretty much confirmed not be in the game a few days ago.

Maybe Boon's opinion has affected other's opinions who didn't even touch the 3d games... or maybe even a few fanboy's opinions, but you honestly can't whine and complain about people bandwagoning when they're calling a shit character shit.

Worst character for me is probably Dairou or something, though. Hsu Hao is pretty close to the bottom, though.

You yourself would label a different character to be the worst one - please try to consider the following before you decide to reply: The 3D MK era introduced a large variety of new characters, some better, some worse. Among the so-called worst characters you might find Kobra - a human character with generic fire abilities, Kira - a MKD's substitution for Kano & Sonya, Blaze - Human Torch of the MK universe, Meat - a...piece of meat..?? ...Darrius, Daegon and Hsu Hao. My question to you is, how do we determine which one is the worst out of them all? How exactly is Hsu Hao the worst? If we judge by his moves or story, you must agree with me that there are more uninspired characters in the series than him, right?

This is where the bandwagon effect comes into play, while characters such as Dairou is pretty much equally as disliked among fans as Hsu Hao, he does not get this label "The worst character" that Hsu Hao seems to get - MK team did play a role here.

Fair enough, but a lot of people genuinely believe he's the worst character. You kind of implied that everybody who thinks he's the worst character in the game only thinks that because of Boon.

That is wrong.

He has undoubtedly influenced the opinion that Hsu Hao is the worst character, but mostly for the people who didn't have an opinion in the first place.

"Worst" is subjective. When people say worst, they usually mean their least favourite. You can't just claim that just because Hsu Hao is somebody's least favourite character, that they're hopping on a bandwagon. I know now that isn't what you meant, but that's what it sounded like at first.

Obviously, there is no best and worst character for fact; that goes without saying, but I didn't think that anybody needed to mention it. It's common sense.

Just a miscommunication, I guess.
