Rumors of MK10 coming out 2012 possibly leaked from MLG!!!!

IMO I'd rather it be a fixed MK9 (UMK9), but as long as they don't push out MK10 with the same problems, I'm fine with it. Bring on MK10 then.

They already have the engine for MK10 so I could see MK 10 coming out in 2013 but if a game is going to be released in 2012 I bet its UMK9
 
mk9 is the "definitive" mk.
I sont wanna sequels, i wanna expansion over the same game. instead one DLC at month. only one big DLC with 10 arenas, 10 characters, and expansion to story mode.
in 2012.
 
Way too early for a completely new game, but I'd be slightly happier with that than NRS pulling a Capcom and releasing UMK9 instead of updating and expanding the existing game through patches and DLC.
 
so long as this version makes it to april 2012. thats my bare minimum. ideally i'd like for mk9 to last at least a year and a half. but if it makes a year, i'm fine.

I don't think they'll rush into MK10 but I could be wrong. They've already laid the groundwork with MK9. The fighting and graphics engine for this game is spot on. So I don't think they'll be designing a new fight engine and what not. I could definitely see them tightening things up and getting a sequel out in the last 1/4 of 2012 probably october/november. Hopefully they'll work mostly on an extended story mode and challenge tower. And focus a lot on fixing their net code because that's mainly been the basis of most of MK9's issues. That and balancing. So hopefully lots more play testing go into this one. If not a sequel I would welcome UMK9 as long as it offers enough new content to warrant a re-release and for a fair price that isn't gonna financially rape players.
