No kidding, not to mention it just further illustrates that NRS is incapable of letting the old characters go. All this "new new new" talk has been BS from the get go.

At least they let the "Generation" characters live. How hilarious would it be if Cassie died but Sonya was in MK11 :laugh:
And I'm glad Kotal is sticking around. They invested a lot into the character. I'm really surprised about D'Vorah though. I thought she had a pretty bight future.


But then again, it's MK. They can and will bring back any of these characters whenever they want

I really wish I didn't open that Spoiler. I told myself months ago I wouldn't spoil the story for myself, but oh well.

If they kill Ferra/Torr and D'Vorah, I'm gonna be a bit upset. Killing new characters doesn't seem right imo. As someone else mentioned, introducing characters and letting fans get attached to them, only to find out that they have no future in MK, is cruel. I like both of them a lot, and I'd really hate to see them go so soon.

Anyways, I'm not gonna believe the leak until further speculation convinces me otherwise.

Whatever happens, Kotal Kahn needs to become a series regular. I've not played him, and the guy is already in my top three ever.

I am not even going to write in spoiler tag. Seriously, out of those eight people, Rain is the ONLY ONE who's not even playable! I hated Motaro's death in MK9 for no reason at all. If you kill Rain, let him at least be playable in that game for a last farewell to the fans Zzzzz

I wonder how they'll handle Torr's death. Like will Ferra die with him? That seems kinda messed up to kill someone who looks exactly like a child. Maybe only Torr dies and it's treated like a tragedy instead of something like Motaro being slammed through a bridge.

If he does die, I think Ferra will be really sad about it. I could see them expanding on her story in a later game. Like she has to find another partner to fight with. What if she fought on Kotal's back? Ha.

Originally I wasn't a fan, but he's an interesting character, the blatant Ogre from Tekken vibe is a big negative for me though

With respect - and I am very sceptical about these leaks too - don't be so quick to rule out a leak from Germany. You've said it yourself; the game isn't coming out there. Why? Because of their government's entertainment censorship laws and the game's certification. MKX will need playing through and certified by PEGI or whatever the equivalent body in Germany is, and so it's possible a tester there leaked it. As you say, the game won't be released there, so it's probably considered less problematic a leak.

I'm not saying it's not bullshit - it probably is - but assuming NRS wanted the game to be certified in Germany on the possibility that it would go on sale there, then a leak of this nature is actually very likely. Don't forget, Germany is by far the largest video game market in Europe.

It can be, but the "Elder Gods Stage" is, in reality, the Jinsei Chamber, located on the Sky Temple, where it seems those statues are there too.

If you are willing to allow for the assumption that this German guy is testing the game so as to grant it a rating in Germany (or more likely, to just say it's not suitable for release) then he would be using the full version of the game and would have access to all content by default, as to certify a game you need to base it on all available content.

Again, I'm not saying this leak is true or his supposed source is real, simply that it is nonetheless plausible for a guy testing the German version (assuming they've been sent one) to leak all of this stuff to someone he knows outside of Germany -- which would make it much easier to leak, as he'd essentially be untraceable unless the police got involved and starting monitoring his e-mails and chat logs, which is extremely unlikely.

If you wanted to leak information under NDA, would you do it yourself? No, too risky. You'd send it to someone in another country and have them upload it anonymously.

I don't know the specifics there, but it's not unlikely that certification boards have beta copies of games, or at the very least are sent a copy of the gold master as soon as it's approved. So if Shaun H. said they submitted a final copy a week or two ago...?

I'm just playing devil's advocate here, as I also think (and hope) it's bullshit, but equally I would not rule out the idea of a German tester being in a position to leak this stuff.

That wasn't a leak, the magazine was given that info as part of GDC coverage.
