But I kind of do see what you mean and all though! Even while I'm not a scorpion player, I'm a old school fan of the Mk universe, changing an Icon character like scorpion into a robot would make A LOT of fans sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOoOoOoOoOOooooOoO Angry.

Also don't get me wrong, this is to the younger generation of people that started playing MK @ like Armageddon, people that are REAL fans of the MK universe/games don't want to see their favorite character change into lets say a cyborg, and also don't want their game to change into some kind of retro call of duty (yeah i said it) sort of play style (in a fighting game environment).

I don't know if I talk for every old school fan of MK, but (atleast I do) I like the adition of new characters, but as long as you AINT TOUCHING MAH CYRAX FFS.

In regards to robo/boob Scorpion... I wouldn't say never. I'm sure Ed has considered it at the very least. Hell, if it weren't for his tweets I wouldn't have even brought it up.

Yeah. I wasn't very happy with Cyborg Sub-Zero either. I had to get used to it and that took time. Looking back, though, I can't say it was an absolutely terrible idea. It's not that bad.

With robo Scorpion... I think if he was just an additional character (like CSZ) fans could handle it. An extra... DLC if you will. That wouldn't hurt IMHO. Same goes with the female version.

As for a female Shang Tsung... here's the thing... it is possible... and it is (IMHO) more likely than a cyborg/female Scorpion. Shang Tsung's soul could be anywhere. What I'm getting at is that a female Shang doesn't need to resemble the original Shang at all. Look at it this way... There's an unknown female walking through Outworld... something happens with Shang/his soul... female stranger is at the right time at the right place... she unwillingly becomes occupied by Shang Tsung... he basically possesses her. Neither of them want it, but that's how things turned out. Shang has a female body until he figures out how to swap it. And since Shao is dead, it won't be so easy.

I can see it happen.

Exactly, after the gruelling learning process of the 3d era there's one thing we learned is that it's better to create an original character than a clone/carbon copy/gender swap for no reason but just for the sake of it.
As far as a female shang i'm going to say hell no... a female sorcerer with completely different looks/abilities would be cool though.

If DLC isn't patched, like it wasn't in MK9, then being DLC could mean not being able to use the character online, due to others not getting the compatibility packs as people did in MK9.
DLC also doesn't = on the main roster, considering that in MK9 the DLC characters had a separate area that came out, APART from the main roster, when you hovered over Cyber Sub-Zero.
The distinction between main roster and DLC DOES exist, and it means freeing up a slot on the main roster for characters like Fujin, Tanya, Reiko, Havik and Kenshi.

All that this Goro pre-order DLC means is just that, DLC.

While I do believe Johnny WILL be in MKX, I don't want them to announce him any time soon. They really need to promote their new characters... Get people talking and familiarizing themselves with them. I feel like Kano was an unnecessary announcement so early in the game. They can get the fanboy juices going later on as we get closer to release.

Nekropolis has nothing to do with gameplay. And besides, the DLC characters ARE accessible in Nekropolis in the first edition of, using the "change character" function.

And by the way, if you are able to fight as or against a character AT ALL, that character is in the game, no questions asked.

Completely disagree. They should be using this time now to promote the newness of the game. If they continue to announce the same old characters we've all seen and played a million times, people may be turned off by the staleness of it all. You throw that sh** in at the end to ease the minds of purist fanboys who are afraid of change. You can preorder a game basically right up until release. So they're not missing out on much. But so early on in the promotional game, you want to show off the freshness of this game as much as possible. IMO, Raiden and Kano were the least interesting character reveals. I and others were much more hyped over characters like Kotal Khan, Ferra/Torr, D'Vorah and Cassie.

You, I and others on this site make up the vast minority of people who pick up MK.
I've seen lots of people say that the returning klassics are amazingly done in MKX, and that Goro is a great incentive for them to pre-order, on sites like IGN, Gametrailers.com and others, which doesn't have the hardcore fanbase like TRMK, TestYourMight or other MK sites may have.
Casuals buy the MK games too.

But so early on in the promotional game, you want to show off the freshness of this game as much as possible. IMO, Raiden and Kano were the least interesting character reveals. I and others were much more hyped over characters like Kotal Khan, Ferra/Torr, D'Vorah and Cassie.

I agree with the new characters feeling like better reveals.
I am also hyped about using characters like Kotal Kahn and Ferra / Torr.
As I stated before, though, we (the hardcore fanbase that wants to see change) are also the vocal minority when it comes to those that buy the games.
I'm pretty sure that the NRS promotional team knows what they're doing.

Not according to the ones in the articles on said gaming sites, which consists of dude bros who let go of MK at the first sign of getting their ass kicked online.

No.
I think they MAINLY want returning characters, while lots of the 22-year hardcore fanbase wants to see the NEW things that NRS can do with MKX.
Hardcore fans know that MK9 was the fan-service / love letter game, and the tag line for MKX fits perfectly.

Who's next?
Who's the next big bad, now that Shao Kahn's dead?
Who's are the next bunch of characters to fill in the role of Forces Of Light, IF Johnny or Sonya (or both) are to die in MKX? (Fujin)
Who's next to take their place at the end of 25 years?

These are all questions that the hardcore fanbase has been asking in the various MK forums.
