I have had an incredibly painful triple whammy of a cold, a severe sinus infection and major headaches the last 3 days. Thankfully im feeling better today but I have pretty much been sleeping the last 3 days. Oh well, it made the days go by quicker

Well, Reiko just got over the whole "Shao Kahn cos-player" thing with the comics. IMO Reiko should pretty much drop any association with Shao Kahn what so ever, so he can start being his own character. It'd be a shame to see Reiko make it into the roster, only to have a dumbed down Shao Kahn moveset.
And Sheeva...She's already known as the shitty version of Goro. In order to do Sheeva any justice, she would need a completely original moveset. And at that point, she's no longer a "playable Goro".
If NRS can make Goro into a fully playable balanced character, then why not? Why try and replace him, when he's still right there ready to be used. It's not like Goro has some huge reputation to keep up as the biggest baddest MK character ever created. Making him playable isn't taking away from the character. He's still the badass Shokan he always was.
IMO, making a character the "playable" version of another, is just asking for trouble. People don't want the dumbed down version of Goro, they want the real deal.

But why not allow Goro to remain his armored boss form while taking MKX Goro in his entirety and turn him into Sheeva (And get her out of that stupid Borat Thong). Sheeva was bad in MK9 because she was so slow and had movesets that were copied from other people. Leave Goro as the Hulking Prince, and allow Sheeva to be a priestess or something and give her the abilities of all the Shokan (Like how Goro somehow has Tigrar Power. At least Goddess Empowered Sheeva would make sense that way).
As for Reiko...
Reiko would still be his own character and could still easily jump out of Shao Khan's shadow as a mastermind instead of a warlord, but is there really any point not to leave him with the Green Energy Weapons?

But giving Goro a balanced moveset is the best thing that's happened to him. Iv never seen such a badass Goro. There really is no reason at all to give Sheeva all of Goro's moves just to keep him off the roster. Like I said, Goro doesn't have a reputation to keep as the biggest baddest boss of all time. He was very lackluster in MK9, due to his unbalanced moveset.
I don't understand what you mean by "leave Goro as the Hulking Prince". He's still a hulk, and he's still a prince. Being playable isn't changing that. It's only making Goro better.
And again, Sheeva would need an entirely new moveset in order to redeem herself from all the hate. And at that point, she isn't a "playable Goro", she's just a playable Sheeva. Most people hated Sheeva, not because she was slow, but because she was only on the roster for one reason. To have a playable Goro.
Reiko was hated in MKA for stealing Shao Kahn's green energy moves. There really is no need to go there again.
IMO, you should never make a character and plan on them being "the playable ____". Because, again, nobody wants the dumbed down Goro. People want the real Goro.
In fact, go to google right now and type in "MK9 play as...", then tell me who pops up.
It ain't Sheeva.. :laugh:

My favorite MK character of all time is Sheeva. Yes , the reason she was created was to give the community a playable Shokan. But , there was nothing wrong with her gameplay IMO. She was at a disadvantage in MK9 due to her slow normal attacks and the fact that she was bigger than every other character.
MKX is the first MK game to incorporate different sized characters effectively (Goro , Ferra/Tor) and on the other end (Jacqui). Different sized characters seem to be balanced now unlike poor Sheeva standing well above all the rest in height in MK9. She does have fans. They are just scarce. Like myself.

Hey, i'm a Sheeva fan too. I mained her before all-a-ya'll!
But it's time to say goodbye to Sheeva. NRS puts her on the same level as Hsu Hao and such.
Hopefully she goes out with a bang in the comics.

i think since goros in playable they should have kintaro and sheeva playable and baraka. kintaro looked like a cute kitten in mk9 and sheeva looked unfinished, both need a complete overhaul in looks and moves.
then goro can have some even looking match ups other than just ferra toor and get some more monsters in the roster
but im one of those people that want a big roster of at least 40 to 50 characters.
eventually down the line theyre guna make a huge MK game with a big roster like armageddon but balanced and still with the 3 variations.
and every character will look great!! (even reptile)
probably wont be for another 10 years though :/ its certainly doable they would just need to spend more focus on the characters than the story mode and not rush the game out.
people praise the "next gen" thing but its still in a primitive state imo.
people gunna look back at MKX and be like "Pffffff 25 characters!! lolololXD"

I never liked Goro but he looks kinda cool in this game even if he has a very random Ezio Auditore variation and a Kintaro ripoff variation (really NRS? Another fire character?) He's still cool though, best Goro we ever had, actually let me rephrase that, the only good and decent Goro we ever had.

I don't think so, but I am open to the idea; Ed Boon loves his secrets, and he expressed severe disappointment that Cyber Sub Zero and Quan Chi were datamined prior to the game coming out. Patching in the character isn't too hard to believe due to that.
It's not easy to believe, but it's not hard.

Quan Chi also got leaked by the Australian ratings board when they announced the game being banned. I don't remember which came first, though...the demo or the ban.

In this game he may have the exact same moveset as he had in mk9 but he has a new design and a moveset and even voicework this time. He plays a small role in the story but he has one. A casual player would wonder why can't I play this guy he looks cool. Tanya you'll at least be able to play as later. Rain you can't. I don't want to pay money for him again if I even can.
