The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury
Actually it's an anthology of short stories. Most stories in the collection are consistent, but you find a couple of stories that are added or removed with edition. "The Last Night of the World" was unique take on the apocalyptic themes in other works of fiction, but it was rather dull read as their was no conflict and the rather dialogue-heavy which is not Bradbury's forte. "The Veldt" his strongest work. It's a chilling tale of our dependence and misuse of technology, and is relevant to this day.
BIOS by Robert Charles Wilson
The first half was promising, but it fizzled afterward. The author went at lengths to describe the social hierarchy that didn't go anywhere, not much in the way of character development, and I felt not much was learned about the alien planet they supposed to explore.
