Raiden getting revealed at EVO

MK has always been ed with the "racial" shit, if I remember correctly Kano was originally Japanese american or something...and, well, we all can clearly see he wasn't played by a Japanese man.

If both casual and hardcore fans are watching (which is possible since even IGN is streaming EVO now), my money is on Raiden, a character that everyone and their mother knows (aka the guy with the Asian hat) aside from the "yellow ninja," "blue ninja" and the "Bruce Lee guy," as I've heard casuals refer to Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden and Liu Kang.

Everyone knows that Raiden will be in. His reveal would be really lackluster and not very hype at all. The only reason why the CG trailer was good was because it was the first glimpse of MKX. It wasn't exciting to see those characters again. We know that they will be in. A Raiden reveal at EVO would be a waste in my opinion.
 
If he got a sick redesign it would be amazing.
I've never been big on Raiden, but he is a massively important character to Mortal Kombat. And given the right appearance, I think he could be interesting again.


His Deadly Alliance alt was his best costume imo. He actually looked like a mythical being, worthy of the title Thunder God.

Plus I hate that weird black cowl Raiden wears under his hat in most of his costumes.
 
A sick redesign + 3 creative variations + a brutal X-Ray move + a sick fatality = people will talk about it for weeks. I am not a fan of Raiden, not even used to play him, but it would be interesting to see how NRS handle his variations and a new X-Ray and whether or not they could come up with a well-new over-the-top fatality or just re-designed an old one.

That being said, I'd be very surprised if they reveal Raiden at EVO. Ed loves mischief and that quote is a mislead. Unless he's such a troll that he double-crosses everyone just for the sake of guessing.

Nah it was lazy writing, I wasn't "shocked" cuz it was a good twist. I was shocked that they'd go such a lazy route to wipe them out.

Have their deaths be more personal, have sektor kill smoke, mileena kill jade infront of kitana, just eating her. Have jax killed by Kano where Sonya is too far away to save him. But instead we got that lazy crap scene.
 
Honestly the deaths didn't even impact me or faze me because of MK's track record of bringing back dead characters.
