Achievements are fun to unlock, and add challenges/playing time to any game. At least thats what its done for me. Not everyone goes after achievements.

I play games more than anybody I know and I've only got like, 3500 gamerscore. My friends have around 10-15000. I barely ever get achievements unless #1 I like the game enough to play through it multiple times. So far there hasn't been 1 game on the 360 I've liked well enough to get all the achievements for it. I simply don't like playing it that much. I'll probably get all the achievements for RE5, MK vs. DCU, Soul Calibur 4, and Prince of Persia. The only gamerscore I ever get is by accident.

If I actually had time to play, my gamerscore would be off the charts.
But being a single father of 3 and working a 3rd shift job limit game time.
BTW, MKast #2 talked about & confirmed Achievements & trophies for both versions.

Even though the trophies mean nothing, they make me want to play the game more and unlock them, so kudos to sony for finding a way for me to play more than i already would.
Example with MGS4, im playing through again just to unlock all the emblems and then take a stab at the Big Biss Emblem.

Yeah, that's definately a spam bot.
The Gamerscore isn't really important to me, but it does spur you on and makes you feel like you are playing for a reason. It's just a fun addition to games. There is only one game I have maxed out the gamer score for, Oblivion, and that's just cos by the time you complete it you will have all the achievements anyway. The only game I have actually tried to get 1000 on is Bully, because I knew I could and love the game so much. I got to about 750 before giving up on the horrible bugs and glitches and going back to the PS2 version.
