PSN Hacking/Return/Etc. Discussion ~ Do Not Make Anymore Threads

Re: PSN Downtime Discussion

I understand that shit happens and I forgive that the psn is down, but I'm pissed that it took them this long to warn us about our personal info being compromised. I'm still going to stick with the ps3 just because I love bluray and it has better games, but next generation my money might be going to microsoft.

Re: PSN Downtime Discussion

They say it 'might' have had info stolen. Pretty serious stuff though, be on guard and keep checking your bank statements. This is going to cause a huge trust issue now for Sony and the PSN. People will probably just switch over to using points cards now instead of real credit/debit card info. Pretty scary stuff. Hopefully the 'might' turns into 'didn't' then everyone can breath a collective sigh of relief.

Nintendo will be coming out with a PS3/Xbox 360 level of graphics system next year, and they are going to get good 3rd party support. Looks like they are going to try to win back hardcore gamers, it might be an option, never know.

Re: PSN Downtime Discussion

i hate going to websites like IGN and gameinformer placing the blame on GeoHot for this, true the CFW did make it so you can breach the security, but GeoHot diddnt make it, he clearly just posted the root keys, nothing illegal so he shouldnt have been sued, all in all, i can just say

Karma is a b*****

Sony violated Geohots privacy and everyone elses by obtaining IPs of everyone who even visited the site, now hackers are violating the privacy is 90% of the users and Executives. this sucks hard, even tho i dont own a ps3, i want to laugh my a** off on behalf of my fellow hackers and modders but i feel HORRIBLE for people who have been exposed to the security breach

Sony deserves this, the users dont. i just want this whole thing to blow over so us hackers.modders arnt seen as cyber criminals

Re: PSN Downtime Discussion

I think Nintendo screwed the pooch with the Wii. They will forever be associated with crappy kids games, and dis-associated from hardcore gamers from now on. They will have to move mountains to get people to come back after they got killed by Sony and Microsoft. They are still recovering from all the money they lost on the Nintendo 64 !

Nintendo.......whatever.........

Think Project Cafe will be Nintendo's swan song like the Sega Dreamcast? The Wii does have a lot shovelware. I never owned a Wii nor plan to, I prefer a regular controller to frailing my arms about. Project Cafe controller will have two analog sticks and a touch screen (Hmm sounds like the Dreamcast controller with the VMU concept lol.) I'll have to wait and see what it looks like when they show it off this summer.

Excuse me? Sony deserves to have it's users information stolen? wat.
Geohot's exploit made the CFW that was used to access the PSN Dev accounts possible. He knew what he was doing. He deserves to be sued, if anyone DESERVES anything.

Re: PSN Downtime Discussion

i knew it wasnt no bs japan company issue the reason why its been down(nice cover up story), this goes for both sony and the b*tch a*s moth*rf*cking hackers sony was saying it was an issue with one of their companies in japan because they are embarrased that they were hacked by bunch of p*ssy a*s nerds, and the hackers anonymous were denying that they were involved. to all u ps3 users out there dont jump ship cause i read in an article that sony was granted a list of all the names and ip addresses for all the ppl that went to geohotz site.

Re: Playstation Network (lighten the mood)

PSN is never returning! There gonna build a new network and it will be ready when PS4 arrives. PS3 PSN is gone and won't return!

Wait and see!

Hope this is Just a Rumor! Another one is this...

When they come back on-line it will be on new servers and it will be a PAY-To-Play ONLY service Network!

Again Hope this is just a Rumor!

The thing to keep in mind here is that the instant the network was taken down Sony hired an expensive, outside, third-party security firm to investigate the situation - if they just found out about it this morning, then Sony didn't wait at all. In the midst of the mass media blowing this out of the water, every press outlet in the world seems to have forgotten how things work. Of course when Sony gets sued (which I'm not suggesting shouldn't happen for the sake of releasing information) it will reveal what went down; whether Sony knew about it and waited or the security firm just discovered it this morning.
