Possible explanation why there isn't a Sub/Scorp Premium Edition

People were saying that Midway didn't put the obvious rivalries on the Premium Editions becuase they were going to be on Xbox. The ones such as Sub Zero/Scorpion, Sektor/Cyrax, etc. I think the reason Midway didn't put those rivalries on the boxes is that they only wanted rivalries of people that will be killed off for MK8. We all know that Sub Zero and Scorpion will make it to MK8.

Sidenote: I'm going to post this over at the Midway forums also. I wanted to post in both places becuase there is a lot of smart people here that won't call me a n00b or anything like that. I'll post over at the Midway boards also to see what they think, even though they will probably just give me stupid responses.
 
ya good call on that, i dont know about being used on xbox, but i like the idea of the rivalries being killed off being put on the covers now

i was thinknig about that, there are so many better rivalries than what they chose.

i guess kano-sonya is a good one, just because of how old it is, its sitll boring though
cyrax-sector-smoke, all the cyborgs would have been a cool cover

baraka-milenna, baraka was the poster boy for deception, couldve used him somewhere
raiden-kahn or one of the other bosses
one cover with all the past bosses and sub-bosses wouldve been amazing
an all ninja cover too

i guess goro and cage is a rivalry, but not really even, just because of the first movie.
same with kahn and sindel, not really a rivalry, they just have a weird marriage and all that, you rarely see them fighting eachother being a big deal
 
maybe what we're all forgetting is that they'll develop rivalries in this game. i also think it's stupid that all mk people come back to life for this game.
 
the goro rivalry should really be with kung lao. And the sindel/Kahn one is vlid, as they are both in command of armies at war with each other.
Others would be;
Cyrax/Nitara
Reptile/Nitara
Quan Chi/Shinnok
Ermac/Ashrah
Hotaru/Darrius
Shujinko/Onaga
Raiden/Shinnok
Motaro/Sheeva
the list goes on
 
Interesting theory. I guess it would make sense that if these were the last appearances for those characters, they'd want to make the most out of 'em. I was actually thinking that maybe they just wanted to throw us off by specifically going out of their way not to do the infamous rivalries that we'd all expect them to do, but that's just because I know Boon likes to screw with our heads.
 
they should have the best female in the game, kira as one of the rivals. they could use obviously kobra...but he sucks. they could though, if they make rivals through game play possibly use kabal...maybe she turned on him or something. and since kano is paired off with sonya he isnt a possibility. :)

But Nitara and Cyrax were allies weren't they? He helped her and she returned him home, no bitterness there that I can see. But did it really happen? Bloody chopped up storylines.
 
Nitara used Cyrax. She had Reptile attack him and destroy his teleporting device in his forearm armor. This made it impossible for Cyrax to go back to Earth realm without the aid of some other being, Nitara. She then made him go into the lava to retrieve the orb that bound her world to Outworld, subsequentally burning out all of his circuits.

I'd be pretty pissed if I was Cyrax and I knew all of this.

About the absence of a Sub vs. Scorp KE box; they aren't enemies anymore. Wasn't that all sorted out in MK4 as one of the valid endings? I know they listed the two as foes again in MKD, gah it's too confusing.

Frankly, I prefer the lesser rivalries. Gives you a chance to see someone other than Scorp and Zero, though Kang is old and tired imo as well.
 
But for all that she did stay true to her promise to send him back, from what I can tell anyway. He didn't seem to care. They played hackisack together in Netherealm so he must of had some fun. (Why would an Orb to do with Shao Kahns power be anywhere but Outworld?) Why don't they do Noob-Sub or Noob-Scorp as the fued between the original Sub, his brother and his executioner/ee are established?
